a bit too small , should have been slightly bigger

Bought as our last broke when it fell out of kitchen drainer! Was looking for one not too big in diameter. There was quite a lot of granite dust when tried before washing. I'm hoping this has stopped or will not happen with the herbs/spices in it.

I guess it would work well for spices but it wasn't right for me. I wanted it for crushing tablets for my mum.There were two problems I had with it. The inner bowl is quite rough which meant that a lot of the fine powder gets stuck in the bowl.Also I found it ground some bits very fine but there was still some coarser grains. I suspect that this would work quite well for spices but it wasn't right for me.

It does what is says on the tin

This is good alternate for stone mortar. Comparatively light weight and easy to clean, but cant make a smooth paste(always coarse ends up coarse)
