I have two cats. They're both really into this, but only one actually eats them. The other sort of pushes them around until the other eats them.He likes it so much, in fact, that he opens the cabinet and roots around for the bag. There's other catnip in there, but no, he doesn't want the loose stuff. He seems to know the pellets are better. No fuss, no mess. No catnip flakes everywhere. He doesn't get all stoned and rub around on them, just gobbles them up and then walks around all mellow.

These are NOT meant to be treats for your cat!!! But they are GREAT!
First off I will say these pellets' do exactly the purpose I purchased them to do and that is to scent up cat toys (see pic 2)... I find that these pellets are nowhere near as good of quality as the pellets that used to be available at 2 pounds for $12 from the former "Drs. Foster and Smith" website. (see pic 1- the original pellets are on the left, these pellets offered here are on the right)... That former company first quit offering them for sale because people were feeding them to cats as treats thus sickening some cats and then the company sold out to Petco :-(As for these pellets, they are still very potent; however, they are much "messier" than the pellets I was previously accustomed to getting- and these pellets cost HOW MUCH? I used to get the top quality foster & smith pellets for $6/pound and now these new pellets cost $30/pound- AND you don't even get them in a jar.... That's insane!I knocked off one star because of the cost and quality. You see with the old pellets one could stuff a bunch of cat toys into the jar, aggressively shake the jar and there would be no dust at all all on the toys.. With these "From The Field" pellets offered here, the catnip smell will still absorb into any cat toy material and it works just as good (I think) but they come out a little dusty... The cats still always go crazy for the toys.In closing, I justify the high cost and find that they are still worth purchasing because as long as you use them properly they will last for many years... All you have to do is take an empty "temptations" screw top jug and put some pellets in the bottom. Then stuff the jug full of balls, mice, birds, and all you cat's other favorite toys. and then turn the jug upside down (not necessary turn over though) and within 48 hours your kitty's toys will be supercharged with scent... These pellets work 100% better than doing the same thing with catnip leaf flakes and besides, the flakes are really messy... I always keep a few stuffed jars on board and use a rotation schedule- after a day or so when the smell has dissipated from a toy or ball, just toss it back into jug #1 and bust out a "fresh" toy from jug #2 I will certainly buy these again before they too disappear. That's all, I hope this helps.. but PLEASE, DO NOT FEED THESE TO YOUR CATS!

POTENT INSECT REPELLENT
After 30yrs of living in the same house, cockroaches have moved into our neighborhood. We do not have an infestation in the house, but do get on an average 2-5 entering through the back door seven months out of the year...more if we do not spray. For the first year, the essential oil spray that I was spraying daily around the door was effective at keeping them out...until they adapted. We went as far as to replace the door, hoping for a better seal. The buggers were still entering the house! After further research, I found that catnip was shown to be effective in repelling roaches. I have filled five small organza bags with the catnip pellets, and placed them across the thresh-hold inside the house, resulting in one roach entering over a seven week period of time. I still spray the outside of the thresh-hold, but the catnip pellets have made this summer less stressful!!An added bonus is that these pellets are excellent for infusing catnip toys. I picked up this tip from another reviewer and my cat is loving it!!

already crumbled
Maybe it is the high humidity in the Texas south, but a lot of the pellets have gone to crumbles in the month I have had them stored in the bag they came in. I do like this brands normal dry catnip, which I ordered in addition to this. I do think the catnip is good enough quality so I would buy the normal kind from this company again, but will not buy these pellets again.

Great travel catnip
Saw Billi the talking cat’s human recommend catnip pellets for when traveling because it’s not so messy to give the kitties catnip. Well it turns out my guys still manage to make a mess (lol) but they like the pellets and one especially looks to make a score when he sees me anywhere near the pellet tin. I love watching their cheese slip off their bread. Silly kitties. So basically fun catnip pellets rated two cat paws up.

Cats have no interest
Not sure if it's the stuff itself or if it's not fresh, but this does zero-zip-nada for the intended audience.

The cats don't eat it, they just slap the pellets all over the house
The cats just slap these pellets around. I don't think they ate one. I will stick to loose catnip or maybe grow some for them from now on.

a tiny bag of effective catnip
About seven or eight years ago, we ordered a gallon size plastic jar of this stuff for about the cost of a single tiny bag of this. It was the most effective catnip we ever had- in fact some of the toys I made with it back then are still my cats' favorites, so I tried to find it again and this little bag was all that was available. It is a tiny tiny bag. And they staple the tag through it so the bag is not sealed- it's not perfectly airtight and fresh when you get it. But I've never had a cat literally seek me out and beg for catnip before (treats, yes. Catnip, no.) And one of my cats literally comes up to me and paws me in the chest to get my attention and provide him one of these pellets. He loves it so much he EATS the pellet as soon as we give him one (just gums is for a while and then swallows it...), and then zonks out for a blissful nap. I've never had a cat do anything like that with any sort of catnip. Some of ours will chew on fresh catnip, but not just gulp it down whole. So on behalf of my cat, Milo, I am giving this product five stars. But be warned, it's a very tiny bag.
