UPDATE: Worked AT FIRST!! DOES NOT NOW...in old Yahama DGX305 Keyboard
THIS IS AN UPDATE ON THE REVIEW: The card DOES NOT WORK now!! It worked at first in my old Yahama keyboard, and allowed me to transfer a midi file from my keyboard to a computer using a multi-reader I bought just for this card. Next time I used the card, it allowed me to record to it in the keyboard, but when we went to retrieve it, the card could not be accessed and it would not allow me to reformat and start over. My keyboard recognizes that a card is in there, but can't access it. The card is worthless now. So, BUY WITH CAUTION. MAY WORK FOR YOU MAY NOT. Maybe these types of Smart Media memory cards are just too delicate and got damaged. We tried to be careful and adhere to the cautions about handling it. Oh, well, on to figure another route to communicate with this keyboard.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------OLD REVIEW: THE CARD DOESN'T WORK NOW/WON'T ALLOW ACCESS OR REFORMAT:This card was exactly what we needed. Had Yahama DGX305 Keyboard since about 2006 (did not come with a memory card) and never used the SmartMedia card feature. Just used it as a piano/organ. Rarely recording to the keyboard. Recently wanted to try to record and transfer songs from the keyboard in MIDI format to use in a audio mixing application. Worked great! Looking forward to using it in our audio projects. May purchase an additional one just to have extra storage space for archiving.NOTE TO BUYERS: This card had to be formatted first before it could be used in my keyboard. My keyboard manual had instructions for this. I saw where some buyer product reviews said the SmartMedia cards did not work for them in their device. Maybe it needs to be formatted first??? Just offering as a suggestion to check.
