amazon basics AmazonBasics DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter

I was looking for a Display port to HDMI and this thing works. I could make out the difference since I was using an HDMI from PC MoBo display adapter which was inferior one and I connected this adapter to my Nvidia graphics card and i could really make out the difference, Good Video quality with desired refresh rates and i could stream audio thru 5 channels and a much-improvised performance.

I have a Monitor with DP input and Xbox with HDMI output. This purchase is because it clearly states in description:"Connects any laptop or desktop equipped with a HDMI port (DP, DP++, or DisplayPort++) to an HDTV, monitor, or projector with DisplayPort InputThe adapter is not a bi-directional adapter—it can only convert signal from HDMI to DisplayPort Output."But it did not work for the above connection from Xbox to monitor using an HDMI cable.I thought let's try another thing.For this other experiment, I used a computer with DP output and a TV with HDMI input.I connected the adapter with the HDMI cable to the computer with DP output and connected it to TV with HDMI input. Voila! It worked.So the specifications in description is incorrect."Connects any laptop or desktop equipped with a HDMI port (DP, DP++, or DisplayPort++) to an HDTV, monitor, or projector with DisplayPort Input"This statement should be : "Connects any laptop or desktop equipped with a Display port (DP, DP++, or DisplayPort++) to an HDTV, monitor, or projector with HDMI Input", not the other way around."The adapter is not a bi-directional adapter—it can only convert signal from HDMI to DisplayPort Output."This statement should be "The adapter is not a bi-directional adapter—it can only convert signal from DP to HDMI Output.Amazon, it could be possible that I was sold an incorrect product, if yes, please reach me. Using on RTX-4080 DP-out to monitor HDMI-in, works just fine. The DP male end is not gold-plated. The point is if it will last, time will tell.

Works as described and worth the price for the suitable device. As mentioned, its not for usb to HDMI. The picture quality depends on a lot of variables so not going to blame the device as such.

Thus product doesn't provide 4K video output. Disappointed.

It doesn't work from HDMI to Display port. Title need to be corrected.Though cable quality is fine.

I have been using this daily over a long term now on a HDMI monitor and there is no problem at all.

This product worked perfectly for my needs. I installed a computer for a friend whose video card only had DisplayPort connections, and his monitors were HDMI only. So I plugged these adapters into the computer and plugged the HDMI cables from the monitors into these adapters. The quality of the resolution and picture are identical to a pure HDMI connection. Highly recommend!
