Love & Other Drugs (2010)

Love and Other Drugs is a romantic comedy about a pharmaceutical salesman played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who is on the verge of getting fired until Viagra comes along and reignites his career. One day while pushing Viagra at a clinic, he meets and falls for Anne Hathaway's character and they start in what is supposed to be an NSA relationship, mainly because she has Parkinson's and does not want to get into a long-term relationship. Of course, feelings develop and the two have to figure out what they want. It has a strong supporting cast including Judy Greer, Oliver Platt, Hank Azaria, and Josh Gad. For those who get the blu-ray, the A/V quality is very good, and it has a handful of extras, including deleted scenes, character profiles of Maggie (Hathaway) and Jamie (Gyllenhaal), a feature on Jamie Reidy, the real salesman on whose book the movie is based, the theatrical trailer, and a BD live feature on Gyllenhaal's favorite scene. Overall, the movie is good, but not without its flaws. The movie does at times seem like a schill for big Phrama, with Pfizer getting a ton of product placement, and just kind of glossing over many issues that the drug companies create (which could easily be more of a theme, because of the character of Maggie and her predicament). There is a lot of sex and nudity in the movie, moreso than in other rom-coms. While it does follow some of the traditional rom-com formulaic notes, it does diverge from that at times. While it is definitely not a family-friendly movie, it is worth watching if you are looking for an adult rom-com.

Absolut schlechte DVD , zerkratzt , mit Sicherheit nicht neu. Habe sie für 4,48 € gekauft ! Bin aber der Meinung gewesen, bekomme eine Nagel neue ! Werde jetzt wohl Ärger mit den Verkäufer haben ! Konnte nur ein Stück Film immer schauen, er blieb immer an der selben Stelle stehen. Das war ein Schuss in den Ofen was das angeht. Rate euch allen, kauft lieber ein Original und bezahlt etwas mehr an der DVD. Ansonsten das Stück Film was ich immer sehen konnte, wunderschön, ein Film den ich empfehlen kann, von das was ich sehen konnte. Ärgere mich ihn so günstig gekauft zu haben. Da hätte ich auch 5 € gleich in die Tonne kloppen können !

GOOD MOVIE

Der Titel ist leider etwas irreführend. Natürlich geht es um süchtiges und krankhaftes Verhalten. Um Selbstverachtung und Beziehungsmagersucht und die Angst, den Anforderungen des anderen nicht zu genügen. Und dann geht es um das Annehmen seiner selbst, dessen was ist, Umgang mit Krankheit, sich dem anderen zumuten. Es gibt mehrere Erzählstränge. Da ist die Entlarvung der Pharmaindustrie, als Persiflage und als erdrückende Realität, also um Profit und angebliche Moral. Und da ist die Parkinsonerkrankung von Anne Hathaway. Und deren Umgang damit. Kann man so was akzeptieren, vor allem wenn es keine Heilung gibt. Anne Hathaway ist ziemlich viel nackt. Das hätte ich ihr nicht zugetraut. Aber es ist authentisch. Der Sex dient beiden, auch ihrem Freund, als Ersatz für Nähe und Verbindlichkeit. Eigentlich wollen beide geliebt werden. Die Frau stellt ihren Körper in den Vordergrund und der Mann seine Karriere. Das Ganze ist fast ein Lehrfilm für psychosomatische Kliniken. Klasse

I am not saying I hated this film or it is a cheap erotic film. The acting, the story,.. everything seems decent. But Two actors' nudity seems too much sometimes. I don't know why that was necesarry. Anne Hathaway is a surprising actress in so many ways. In her level, she is popular and amazing enough to avoid nudity in her movies for success. Maybe, I thought, before becoming too old, she wanted to leave her beautiful moment through her movie-even though the story is not an erotic film (Clearly it's a serious story). That's my honest thought about this movie. Both actors are brave enough to show their whole body nudity. The story is not perfect and sometimes I felt like I am lost what they are trying to say. The image seems perfect. It is HD image all right. It is not an action movie or SF, so no need to talk aboout the sound.
