OXO Good Grips Spring-Loaded Poultry Shears, Black

After seeing an interesting recipe, I decided it was finally time to be a grownup, and learn how to spatchcock a chicken. The reviews said Oxo's shears are the best balance of performance and cost. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Right out of the box, these shears made short work of a good sized chicken. It's been dry brined and sitting in my refrigerator right now.They're spring operated for accuracy, latch shut for safety and storage, and best of all, easy to clean. They pop into two pieces to go in the dishwasher. Like most Oxo products, these shears seem very durable, and strong enough for even a turkey.

Excellent all purpose kitchen shears. Originally purchased over a year ago to split a whole chicken. My arthritic hands find these easy to operate as they do not have 2 full loops for fingers, rather a lever or bar type thing in place of one (look at product photos). Even small hands can use these, and the spring that automaticallly reopens them is wonderful. I find I am using them for many non-food things. Purchasing again to keep a "good" pair in the kitchen drawer for original intended use. Come apart and back together in a flash for washing. Well done Oxo!

clean easy cutting. very sharp and sturdy. worth the cost. easy to clean since you can take them apart. i have used them to cut chicken wing sections and it was like cutting paper.

Used them to cut a large chicken breast in half. They worked well. Come apport to make cleaning easier.

Great for spatchcocking 45+ lbs turkeys. Keeps it's edge and doesn't require to much force to get through bone. Fits easily in different people's hands in the family. We process a lot of chickens and turkeys. We have to cut them in half a lot. These are a lofe saver. Just wash in the dishwasher when you're done.
