Precision sound at the right price! - Look nowhere else.
If you are a music lover, casual listener or even a professional this pair of cans would stop nothing short of impressing in every respect. I am a casual listener who appreciates quality sound -- I bought this to pair it up with my LG v40 Thinq quad DAC, and man this one rocks!! I have graduated from Sony MDR-1A (48 ohms) and am now listening to every song and album all over again!Build quality and comfort - 5/5Valour pads are super comfy, over the ear fit is excellent, no hindrance or sound leak for those who wear specs, steel band was initially running tight but then in a week's time it eases out. (or you get used to it?! :-) ).... and makes for a perfect fit for a long time wear. Runs slightly warmer at my ears inside the cups, but thats a nit pick. The wire and its joints are well built - appears to hold up for a long long time.Sound quality - 5/5Precision sound with tight bass, clear mids and precise highs -- never overpowering but sufficient to delight music lovers and gamers alike. A very lovable sound signature overall. Spatial sound is super amazing with a very large sound stage; Listening to 8D flacs shows night and day difference between the Sony MDR-1A (similar to the ATH M50x) and this! I 'm sure you will enjoy this.Features -- 3/5Nothing to write home about; A well built pair of cans and thats about it. Case is a cheap string bag; There is a 6.3mm connector provided; Very long round wire -- non detachable can get unwieldy to lug around. Wouldnt fold or lay flat. No microphones. But hey, when we mean good quality audio at a reasonable price, who cares about frills.Overall a great purchase and a very happy experience owning this! I havent gone back to my Sony since this one arrived. If good quality sound is your choice over portability or features, I 'd easily recommend this over the likes of Audio Technica ATH M50x, Sony MDR-1A, and the likes.NOTE to owners of LG phones with Quad DAC: If you are wondering if the LG Quad DAC would drive the Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro, yes it easily does. Choose the 80 ohms version for this. I listen at 25 ~ 35 points (out of 100 points) and that is comfortably loud.

One Monitor to Rule them all!
I'm highly impressed with this Sound Monitor. It's 80 ohm version and I paired with Xonar U7 AMP to drive it, It sounds soo neutral! No colored sound signature, extremely neutral and superbly balanced. I get it now why this headphone is used by Music artists (you can find lots of artists and musicians using it) and sound engineers. And have a really big soundstage even being a closed back headphone.Tried plethora of music genres, tried in movies, games (sp and mp both). Sounds insane everywhere.Bass and sub-bass are detailed and deep. Extremely balanced and not bassy like many colored headphones out there in market. Bright sounding treble. Sharp yet smooth. So low and highs are quite equally balanced. Mid has lots of range.Very Crisp! Amazing separation of frequencies. If you have AMP to drive even higher ohm headphones then ofcourse 250 ohm would be way to go. My xonar u7 is upto 150 ohms so I went for this, and according to reviews 80 vs 250 ohm have little differences than 32 ohm vs 80 ohm version. But don't take my words for it as I haven't listened to 250 ohm version. Just according to reviews. Most of the reviews suggesting that 80 ohms is most fun sounding among other 2 variants. Plus you it's not extremely hard to drive it unlike 250 ohm version. And this headphone is built like a TANK! Clamps are metal (steel), cans are heavy duty ballistic plastic. Earpads are soft breathable velour pads and are extremely comfortable. Clamping force depends on person to person. I have big head, so some distance adjustment on clamp release did the trick. Now this must be one of the most comfortable headphones/monitor I've ever worn.Excellent Audiophile headphone and I'm glad that I went for this after tons of reviews and praise everywhere.btw, DT 770 pro units are all made in Germany. And I stopped believing in so called 'gaming' headphones few years back. They suck...my old Steelseries Elite Prism 11k 'gaming' headphone sounds so insignificant, pathetic compared to this. Don't waste your money on gaming headphones. Get an Audiophile headphone or monitor like these, probably get a DAC/AMP with that as well. There's a reason these headphones are standing tall against the test of time for decades. Fun fact: DT770 released back in 1981. And still this day, they are the choice of musicians, artists and sound mixers, engineers all over the world. That says something!
