HX: I've just gotten into camping about a year or two ago. I've tested this tent-camping on loose gravel/dirt and it was a great experience. I'm a pretty easy sleeper but I didn't feel uncomfortable at night at all. It makes a huge difference from sleeping on the thin tent tarp and feeling every rock. PROS: It's so light! This is a big plus when carrying it around. It is also very easy to pack up, making setting up and packing up very quick. I've enjoyed using it, as I said before. It does a good job of protecting your butt, back, or whatever part of you is lying on the ground from the irregular and sharp rocks you may be set up on. It definitely works better than a yoga mat or blanket. It's long enough and a half for me. Granted, I'm about 5' even, but I've had taller friends sleep on it and it works for them as well. CONS: It will definitely, definitely get scratched up if you use it outside a tent. This is not a problem so far because it hasn't affected the utility of the product. There's also no heat/thermal retaining function like some other higher-end products. This wasn't a big deal for me personally because I haven't been camping out in near freezing temperatures with this pad, but keep that in mind when you're buying a product like this! Overall, good buy at this price point. My family has two!

I previously owned a lightweight inflatable sleeping pad, with which I slept anywhere between 2 or 5 hours per night while camping - waking repeatedly in the night, not able to get comfortable. It made the days surrounding my campnights inconvenient, dealing with the effects of sleep deprivation. I picked this pad up with my eye on the low price and light weight. It's not as light as my air pad was, but the extra few ounces are absolutely worth it - I slept nearly a full 8 hours on this sucker all weekend! It worked quite well for stomach sleeping (are we that rare?) and okay for short periods of side sleeping with a pretty meager pillow. And I nearly passed out on it lying on my back watching the stars. Probably it's the most comfortable for back sleeping, but I don't back sleep to save others from my snoring. It does mark up dents and dings pretty easily, but I'm not convinced that any of them are permanent, and it seems to be cosmetic damage only. It's fairly voluminous but light, and easy to cut if you want to size it just right for your pack. Mine has ties on the outside for pads, so I cut off the couple inches at the bottom where the straps were connected. Knocked off a point for eagerness to show dents and some discomfort on my legs in the night (but that could have just been evidence of how swole my thighs were after the day's hike). For me, this pad is an absolute godsend.

Light, thickness, strong ,smooth easy rolling and good to fit on backpack, warmth, make sleeping better .

Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends. After just one camping trip, the foam started breaking down and tearing apart. For something designed for the outdoors, the durability just isn’t there. If you need a super-light pad for a quick overnight, it’ll get the job done, but don’t expect it to last long.

Bought two of these, because I didnt wish to spend too much money on a sleeping pad. Big mistake!! It was lightweighted which was nice. But took up lot of space inside our bag, since we travelled by air. I expected that, so that wasn't much of a surprise. We did backpacking for a week in the forest. Within a couple of days, the pad got severely damaged since it couldn't handle the rough/rocky floors. We just throwed the pads away on our way back home. If u are thinking of buying a sleeping pad for a long term use, please don't buy this and buy a good self inflating sleeping pads. It might be ok for peopl who just camp in the campgrounds and do light hiking. But definitely not for heavy backpackers/long hiking trips.

For anyone looking for a cushion for the ground, this is not what you want, buy an air mattress instead. If you want the ground to stay cold and your body to stay warm, get this pad. It isolates the heat from your body well, which is it was designed to do. My only gripe is that as a 5'10" 210lb male, this thing fits my body exactly, leaving little space for wiggle room. It serves its purpose fine but it is a bit thinner than I expected.

Be reasonable. For us roughing it camping they were perfect, but for someone expecting a serta matress they would be disappointed. We spent 2 weeks sleeping on sandy/gravely ground with this mat, my husband and I each had one. We were backpacking and they strapped nicely to the outside of our packs and gave us just enough padding so that we weren't miserable on the ground. Also kept us dry when it poured and water leaked in the tent a little. I wouldn't camp without them again :) Obviously they will got a little roughed up on the outside of our packs but they made it home with us through several flights in one piece and we will use them over and over again. When they wear out we will buy this product again.

This product is all about expectations, you are buying a camp pad for around ten bucks, and that is exactly what you get. It is a soft-ish closed cell piece of foam. You get your moneys worth, and that's it. This has no fancy features, it is a foam pad, and as a foam pad it works well. I don't understand some of the neg reviews, i will rack it up to some having hundred dollar exceptions for a ten dollar pad. As for durability, as long as you take care of it, you shouldn't have a issue, but it will not stand up to abuse. The built in straps work very well, and it is very light. I have used it several times both out camping with the scouts and at home for testing and if your a back sleeper it will work well for you in a moderate environment. If its going to get below 30F - 40F, or if you are a side sleeper, then you should look into something that is thicker. Pros: -Cheap / very light / built in straps Cons: not for winter camping, can tear if abused, too thin for side sleepers

Doesn't seems to be too sturdy. The thickness is just okay.
