Would buy this one again.
At this price point it's fantastic. It's not a $3,000 offset smoker but it's enough for 10 pounds of chicken. I probably would have bought a larger one but this works fine for 95% of what I make. I did hear of some reviews that complained about the heat being too high but I turn it down and it coasts along at 225 no problem. I'd buy again if I had to make the decision again.

Excellent
I wasn't 100% because of some of the reviews, but I am extremely happy with this smoker.Assembly was easy. I typically have a terrible time putting things together. NOT THIS! Instructions were relatively straight forward. I was able to get it put together in under an hour with no "extra parts".As got functionality. This is my second smoker. My other is an electric pellet smoker. I found this one much easier to use and kept the temperature steady throughout my cook. I made chicken breasts and burgers. Best chicken I've ever made.I would definitely buy this again. The price was right and worked as expected.

wish it had back wheels but...
This is our 3rd time buying this vertical smoker to use with wood &/or propane. The grilling area is small, but not a problem for our meat; I cut up our ribs first. (Too small for a whole brisket) The thermometer on the door is invaluable! Our previous model, from a big-box store, had vents on side & wheels on back legs but those additions are being worked around, at our house.

Would never buy again. Wish I had returned.
The worst I have ever had. I had many smokers, electric, gas, combos, etc. I have had 2 of these exact/previous versions and been very happy. This one is terrible. I cannot get the temp below 200 degrees. If I turn the gas all the way down, the burner goes out- and you cannot see the burner bc of the wood chip tray. So, I am going up to 225+ and down to 150 constantly. Relighting, trying to adjust using the actual valve on the propane tank. Smoke is pouring out both sides of the doors. Obviously, the hinge side came installed but if I adjust the latch on the opening side, it only increases the hinge smoke escape. The 2 very similar ones I have had lasted, and I knew exactly where to set the dial for 180 or 225, etc. and it was very consistent, and I could walk away for 30 minutes and come back, and it was still at the set temp. This one I am literally sitting next to for 7 hrs. Do not buy it and shame on you

Great little smoker (30")
Will hold a lot of meat. Haven't tried veggies. I bought a Dutch oven lid holder and a small cast iron skillet to put the wood chips in and facilitate ash cleanup. Barely fits under the water pan, but works great without presoaking the chips. I also brought some large aluminum pans (9x13, 30ea for ~ $20) to catch drippings (needs lots of water or aple cider mix so as not to burn and dry out). I place it on a shelf just above the water pan. I start out hot (300*) for a bit, then low and slow (200*) for several (or more) hours. Get yourself a pair of silicone smoker oven gloves -- they're very helpful. This is my second one. The first lasted > 7 years outside, mostly uncovered until the propane hose cracked and the fire was outside the smoker. Not much, but some rust is also why the new smoker. The other one also had wheels on the rear for easy moving. This one you get to carry. It's not that light!Masterbuilt is good quality. I recommend it. I'll cover this one every time it's not in use. 😳
