The reading passages are interesting and age-appropriate, and the questions really help build comprehension skills. It’s well-structured, easy to follow, and great for both classroom use and home practice. My child enjoys working through it and has shown noticeable improvement. A must-have for parents and teachers looking to support literacy development! Review: Great books - Cgb books are brilliant, we used them for most subjects as clear and follow curriculum

Great for at home
This comprehension workbook is great for at home. The questions are clear and gives a variety of text-types as examples. I would say that some of the fiction texts aren’t as easy to answer unless you know the full story already because it doesn’t explain what is going on in the book prior to the excerpt that you read for questioning i.e. the Peter Pan excerpt starts mid-conversation when he has arrived at the Darling’s and is trying to encourage the children to go with him to Neverland. The questions ask the reader about how he attempts to ‘lure them’ to Neverland but the excerpt doesn’t include the context for why Peter is at the house, making it confusing for the reader and necessary for a helper to explain the context. All in all, you can’t fault CGP workbooks, but this is something I’d bare in mind.
