Cheap, Simple and Lightweight Bivy, but NOT waterproof on its own.
This thing works exactly as I intended to use it; which is to say that it's a super light and simple layer of protection for my quilt and sleeping pad. It's as simple as it gets. It's two pieces of light weight nylon, one longer than the other, sewed together and seam taped with a draw cord to cinch it up if needed. I use it in conjunction with a 8'x10' Silnylon tarp. On a recent trip into the wilderness there was constant rain during the evenings and I definitely got to test this thing out in terms of weather performance. I'm glad that I had it, but I can tell you unequivocally that it is NOT waterproof. At one point it soaked through and my quilt became wet. However, that was my fault for the way I pitched my tarp, as I never intended to be exposed in this thin anyways.Drops of water will bead up and roll off of this thing, but sustained moisture WILL get in. If you intend to use it under a tarp as a lightweight, simple splash guard and protection for the rest of your sleep system, I would not hesitate to recommend it. You can't find anything remotely similar at this weight without spending at least $70 more. However, DO NOT expect this to be a stand-alone shelter. You will definitely have to use this along with a tarp or other shelter of some kind that already offers *real* waterproofing.

Windproof
I have had this bivy for a while. The initial reaction was that this bivy bag is a bit thin and could possibly rip out in the field. Before I took it with me on my camping trip, I sprayed the whole thing with waterproofing spray just in case. It was a chilly night. 24 F with high winds, but this bivy bag stopped virtually all wind from seeping through. This definitely kept my sleeping bag warmer, by protecting it from the wind. The bag is a bit small on the height side. This means you can't fit your sleeping mat inside of it to prevent from rolling off. I was worried that I would wake up with condensation all over me, but I was pleasantly surprised that my sleeping bag and bivy bag were completely dry. I am really glad to have this bag!

Great extra layer. Inexpensive, light, tough..
Great bivvy bag for the price. Most would cost an arm and a leg. I'm 6' 2". I calculated the length width before purchase. 4" to space about. I got in it and I could cinch via draw string myself completely in the bag. About. A quarter size hole at the cinch part. I'm also about 230 lbs. Raccoons can and have ruined backpacking trips. One lady stayed up all night fighting them off. They are, amongst other creatures, vectors or can be. Rabbies etc.. not always. Skunks to will enter an opening in your shelter. This is polyester ripstop. Light, tough. Waterproof? Spray it. Poncho, etc.. Just extra layer of protection.

No zipper????
Wish I knew it didn’t have a zipper before I bought it. If you use this to stuff your sleeping back into (which is a huge pain without a zipper), good luck getting out in a hurry to pee in the middle of the night.Poor design

Nice!
I can’t speak to the actual water proofness of this product, but I’d suggest spraying it with scotchguard for extra protection if you go that route. I just use it for extra warmth within my tent on top of my sleeping bag and it works great!

Alright for a cheap bivvy
I'm 5'11 with a 42 in chest, this bag is long enough for someone 6'1 and wide enough to turn in even with a 3-4 season bag in it.Taken it out 3 times around the Lake District. While not raining the ground has been wet on 2/3 of the trips and the bivvy has kept me dry. It's also light and stuffs fairly small. It really shone when the wind picks up, as it completely shields against that making it a nice cosy affair. The only negative is that it's not breathable, or at least if you sleep hot you'll generate a perfect storm of condensation in the bag. In a summer bag it takes a little longer before the condensation occurs and it varies in amount. In a winter bag it takes a while but then the condensation is at dangerous levels.

This one's a bit heavier and bulkier than the Rab but it's more robust and MUCH better value for money
I bought this to replace an expensive Rab ultra bivi which literally came apart at the seams after a seasons light use. This one's a bit heavier and bulkier than the Rab but it's more robust and MUCH better value for money. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Love it
Brilliant! I lost my first one and bought it again.I have used it numerous times now. I have used it for wild camping and it's kept me dry and warm. It was so cold that it was covered in frost and ice in the morning, but with my sleeping bag etc inside, I was lovely and warm.I use this almost every Tuesday as I am a member of Search and Rescue and this is ideal to stay warm, clean and dry whilst hiding out in the woods on training nights.Forgot to mention.. like most other reviews on here, it's not that breathable. It's ok for a single night if you sleep hot then wake up damp as you can just pack everything away and dry it out later.. For multiple days, you need to find somewhere to dry your sleeping bag etc occasionally.Still love it though.

Awesome
Works well, I've had it for a while and it kicks like a dream (though, like many of its kind, condensation and breath-ability are ongoing issues). Highly recommend for those who sleep under the stars.

Seems good
Bought more for a backup for treeless areas when I can't use my hammock. As such, I've only tested it for size with me+sleeping bag inside it on the bedroom floor. It's certainly roomy enough not to be too restrictive while asleep, the seams and stitching appear to be all good and it packs away small enough to be included every time I'm wild camping.I'll update this review with further comments once I've used it as intended.
