Just what I needed...
This is exactly what it says it is. A direct replacement for the drive. Read the description carefully as this is for the older iMacs. If only accessing the old drive was as easy as it is to order this... that would have made my day.

Compatible and works great so far...
I installed this in a 2007 Mac Mini to replace a non-functioning drive. It was part of complete redo as I also replaced the hard drive with a solid state drive and increased the memory. Used the DVD drive to install the Snow Leopard OS software.
