Not much better than leaving a key under a rock.
The maximum number of different combinations is only 252 when you use five numbers. You can enter the numbers in any order and still open the lock. So, if you want to use 29475, you can enter 24579, 25479, or any ordering of these five digits to open the lock. And, you can't use any digit more than once. That makes the total number of combinations of zero to ten digits 1024. Subtract out those that are associated with fewer than three digits, and you get 968 distinct combinations.Tt is not as secure as a 3-pin 10-digit combination, which will give you 1000 different combinations to try. This is very disappointing. But I guess it is slightly better than leaving a key under a rock, if you don't have too many rocks in your yard.

Mountable weather proof key safe
I was looking for a mountable key lock. This is exactly what I needed. It is constructed of metal, with a capacity to easily hold several keys. It comes with a water-resistant cover to protect it if mounted outdoors. Setting your own code is very simple. It comes with a tiny key that is used to remove the white plate, by unscrewing the little screw that holds it on. Once removed you can see the numbers and little black tabs by each number. Using the key, turn the desired numbers so that the tiny arrow is facing down. You can see in the photos below, the arrow is imprinted on each tab. Once you have your code set, test it to ensure it opens then place your keys in and close. Always slide the clear button before attempting to unlock.

Love these.
I've had one of these cast iron key holders, this one or one just like it, on every house I've ever owned. For 40 years they have performed as advertised, never loose batter or cell connection and work like a charm. I highly recommend them.

Lid didn't fit right
This is a deep box so will fit lots of keys, not a slim profile. The lid was extremely difficult to get back on due to poor construction or something causing a bad fit. Not worth the hassle so I returned it which was a very easy procedure.
