Easy to install & use
Great tv stick, we’ve got several throughout the house. The setup is easy and once installed the Home Screen and navigating around the stick is easy and straightforward. Wouldn’t hesitate to purchase it again.

Sharper, Faster, Smarter.
WHY I BOUGHT IT: Took advantage of Amazon's recent price reduction to upgrade from my previous Firestick. The difference has amazed me. Spoiler alert — it's brilliant! THE GOOD: The unboxing feels thoughtful — eco-friendly packaging with that "a place for everything" setup vibe. Build quality is solid throughout. Picture quality is noticeably sharper, channel changes are quicker, and buffering that I'd attributed to poor WiFi seems to have completely disappeared. It feels like my Sony TV just got an upgrade too. THE NOT SO GOOD: Nothing major at all. QUALITY: Solid build quality. Everything feels premium and responsive. IN REAL USE: Setup was genuinely simple about 3-4 Minutes -- if you have a previous account (like I did), it's basically plug and play. Even setting up from scratch would be straightforward, only extra step might be to just register a new account. First impressions were "wow, this is a real step up." THE KEY THING: This model supports the side loading of apps from outside the App Store, which is important if you want flexibility. Unlike the newer Firestick with Vega OS, you're not locked into just official apps. The SmartHome section displays all your connected smart devices right on your TV — my Ring cameras and other smart devices are now visible in one convenient place. WORTH THE MONEY?: Completely. Worth every penny for the upgrade. WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN?: I would highly recommend the Firestick 4K Plus. You get faster streaming, excellent picture quality, smooth performance, and it's a steal at this discounted price.

Edited: Very capable of media playback, shame the Default UI / UX is rubbish (fixed)
OK, what a difference a day makes, 24 little hours... I stand by everything in my orginal review below however this prompted a telephone call from Amazon (than you for your time Mayar) This was a very constructive call, I explained my objections to recommendations being given a higher priority and screen space to the apps that I have installed, I explained the default launcher is simply too busy and overwhelmingly filled with bloat I also explained I had tried to implement Couchy Launcher, but was having issues auto launching it as I could not locate an apk of the "home on fire" app Mayar was very understanding and helpful and provided basic instructions to assist If anyone else is looking for the Home on Fire app, I would suggest using the latest release on the project's github page and not random youtubers links (unless you trust them implicitly) You will need to get the downloader app, become a developer and activate ADB I had issues initially as I have seperate networks for iot/devices/people to use (both the firestic and your phone need to be on the same non-mlo network without client isolation active. Once these requirements are met you can launch an ADB app like ATVtools and send the commands I now have a much nicer, simpler home screen I would have given 5 stars, however it looses 1 due to over complication involved to implement the fix Amazon, please make this easier, especially for those who pay to remove ads in your content Original Review follows: If you want a streaming device that you are in control of DON'T get a FireStick I have had this device for less than a few hours and truly dispise the user interface, crammed full of ads and settings that dont actually do what they should (no previews should means NO previews) The interface is very busy and is terrible I have added downloader to install f-droid for couchy launcher, which would be great if there was a way to set couchy to be the default without having to visit a third party website for an app called homeonfire On the plus side, when playing content it is very capable, but the rest over shadows the good stuff Amazon, you have made this product miserable to use, but it was cheap at the time of purchase, if there was a native option to change the launcher everything else could be forgiven, but as it is this is the only affordable streaming option available to me.

Great product affordable upgrade for your viewing
So much better than previous version. Easy to set up in minutes and simple to use. Vioce typing search facility is time saving. And direct buttons to most used apps like netflix and prime are good for those who are elderly to use.

Excellent For Turning Any TV Into A 4K Smart Hub
Okay hear me out on this. I originally had the none 4k firestick for a while but after seeing how good that was I went and picked up the Firestick 4K to upgrade my older older one as my TV is also 4K. The picture in 4K with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support really makes shows and movies pop especially when you have a TV that supports all those together it is amazing. When the content supports it, it looks noticeably better than standard streaming and it also handles regular HD content nicely so it doesn’t feel like a downgrade when watching older stuff. Setup was straightforward. It recognised my WiFi and got all the updates without any hassle. The interface is clean, responsive and quick when switching between apps. I like that it supports WiFi 6 which helps keep streaming smooth even when other devices are using the internet at the same time, mind you I do also have gigabit WiFi so that also helps haha. The remote with Alexa voice commands is a nice touch too being able to say things like “play the next episode” or “open Netflix” makes it a lot easier than scrolling through menus when you can't be bothered to press more buttons. What really sold it for me is how many streaming services it supports right away including Prime Video, Netflix, Disney Plus and BBC iPlayer, all in one place. Yes I already have these things on my smart TV but when I'm out of the house and at those hotels that have nothing then this is a huge bonus for me. The stick comes with an HDMI extender which I use myself as helps if your TV ports are too close together or there’s not much space behind the screen. It’s compact and tidy and I really like how portable it is when I go on trips or stay in hotels as previously mentioned. it’s one of those essentials I always take with me, all you need is WiFi and a TV that has a HDMI port and you’re set (also don't forget your remote as I have once haha). There are a couple of small things worth noting. It can get a little warm after long use and performance can dip slightly if your WiFi signal isn’t great. Also amazon does push its own content quite a bit which can get a bit repetitive if you’re not using prime video but is also understandable as you are using their own product. Still these are small 'issues' if you wanna call it that compared to how well it works overall. All in all it’s a brilliant bit of kit for turning an older TV or even newer ones into a proper 4K streaming setup. For the price and everything it offers it’s definitely one of the best streaming sticks I’ve tried and if you don't have one I would highly recommend in investing into one as you won't use anything else anymore.
