Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router

This is an Excellent router with pretty good range. I have a BSNL old ADSL model with broadband(PPPoE) and worked perfectly fine with this router. You just need to know the user name and password your ISP gave you.. I am getting excellent range even when I am using the laptop in downstairs Also if any one of you is experiencing issue with loading certain sites like yahoo mail link , hotmail, or certain links from w3schools etc first try following things 1.First go to your router page 192.168.1.1 give to username password 2.In the basic settings page make the MTU dropdown list to manual and change the value from 1492 to 1440. 3.Click save settings and 4.Click reboot(save and reboot options are down below basic settings page) 5.Wait for some time, so that the connection is established(Check the Linksys Connect application from your desktop to see whether connection is established) (These steps fixed the problem for me. If it doesn't you can try changing the MTU size from 1440 to 1492.) Pros: Excellent signal strength Extremely light in weight Almost budget price Easy to set up Cons: 1.Port lights are shown at the back 2.Not compatible with Linux OS

This router was my first ever router which I have got... firstly the setup was easy (if u are aware of certain details of ur network) it's speed is nice because of it's dual bandwidth feature...but what lacks is its range though I would not say its range to be worst.. but at the end of the house it's range is not that one expects from such brand...I bought this product mainly because of one feature which I liked a lot that if u keep this router running for 24 hrs still it doesn't get heated up and doesn't affect its functioning.... which is a big problem in some Chinese routers.... I have kept that router switched on for last 15 days without break and still if u touch it its not hot... seriously it's just that normal when I received in the pack...so if u want a good router go for it ..don't think it's range is bad ... But In my case I expected it to be more ;-)... A good router at such low price from such a brand is rare so just go for it..

I have just bought it. The delivery was very late ( more than 1 week late than the expected date displayed on webpage ). That may be due to a huge orders on Diwali offered items. It is working good. The set up was not much complicated. Though, there are a lot of things to set up and I have done only the basic settings for wireless and local internet provider's connection ( no DHCP, with private static IP ). I wish the power cord is a bit longer. I access the internet through wireless and sometimes sit beyond couple of cement walls. Still, it provides satisfactory speed. I am happy with this low price but very good product from Cisco.

Hats off to amazon, gt dis delivered within 3 days in excellent condition.The router looks stylish but the only problem with the design is dat d led indicators r on d back side of d router.The router provides good speed but it decreases at an alarming rate with the no. Of users increasing.The range is nt dat good nd it decreases to 2 points on my tab and cellphone both within 15 ft. though the speed is good.the customer support is great.It takes hardly 10 mins to configure the router.All in all the router is good bt not "the best router in india" as claimed by some websites.

Excellent buy! But ensure some points before buying: In India most of us have internet connection provided through their telephone line. This type of connection is called ADSL connection. This router is not directly compatible with ADSL connections. That means if you have such connection than you will require a standard modem or router which provides output via an ethernet cable.Then you can hook up this router with your standard router. If you have direct connection through ethernet cable then it is best for you! One more thing, if you are advanced user(use port forwarding and etc.) then you should go for E1200 router. Hardware is same but firmware of that router is little bit more powerful. Pros of this product: Setup is very easy with provided CD. user friendly browser interface also works great. Good range! Don't worry about the range of the router. it is more than enough for domestic connectivity. High speed.(Just turn off QoS(Quality of Service) and inbuilt Firewalls to get more speed).

I got this router a few months ago, I've been using and have always preferred to use LINKSYS routers because of their reliability and ease of use. I recently found out that none of the 2 Linksys Routers that i currently have, are able to correctly use Static Routing, where in access to Google DNS is blocked for usage of Netflix in India on streaming devices such as Roku. Roku has hardcoded Google DNS into its firmware, and even if you have subscribed to paid DNS like Unlocator or other similar services, for using Roku with your router, you need to block Google DNS from your router, which this router just cannot do although it DOES have this feature! So i got an Asus Router recently, and was able to correctly configure Static Routing for using Netflix on Roku! :) Stay away from this router if you plan to use Roku/other Straming services and plan to access Netflix from it! It's a good router otherwise, but i would expect ALL features that any router DOES OFFER, to work correctly!

A decent Router and fits under budget. The best part of this router is its supports DD or Open WRT firmware! I am using Tikona WI-Bro Connection with this router and getting the full speed of 10Mbps as per my plan. I know the WI-FI coverage of this router is a quite bit low by comparing to other routers but if u install DD-WRT latest firmware on this device and increased the Tx power from 72 to 140 or 150 u can see that the WI-FI coverage of this router is little bit high by 3-4m. Nothing to say about amazon guranteed One Day Delivery! Fast,Reliable and Expensive... The package arrived in just 18 hours since the order was placed. Outstanding! I was looking to extend the existing wifi network at home to help it reach the dark corners of our apartment. After looking through the DD-WRT wiki I zeroed in on this one as it seemed to be well supported and had the more preferable Broadcom chip set. I plugged it in and followed the instructions from the wiki (disable wireless security first, enable it later once the router does what you want it to) and the setup was a breeze. I didn't try it with the the stock firmware at all but I am sure the router performs well out of the box with the stock firmware too. This is a good option if you are looking to use the open source DD-WRT firmware on it. A little expensive for my liking and no LED indication on the visible surface of the router made me knock off one star off the possible 5.

We recently switched to a different internet provider who was able to hook us up with a way faster connection speed than what we had been using. But we had to buy a router in order to have wireless access since the new company doesn't provide their own. When the computer was hooked up directly with an ethernet cable our speed was clocking at least 30 Mbps and usually closer to 50 or 60. After reading up on the various brands of wireless router available, we went down to a brick and mortar store planning to buy this precise Linksys model. But they didn't currently have it in stock. Impatient to get wireless, we instead bought a seemingly comparable Netgear router from the store and hooked it up the next day. It seemed to work well enough at first and although it did reduce our speed significantly we had sort of expected this so no big deal. BUT within a day or two of use the Netgear device was dropping the internet connection about once every other day. Not a huge problem, we just reset the router and once it booted up again it worked fine for another day or two. But we had just been through this kind of dropped-connection drama with our previous internet provider and were not really as tolerant of it as we might have been. Besides which, the Netgear reduced our speed so far that actual downloading was only around 300 Kbps. So we researched again, saw this router with the tip in the comments about how to adjust the settings to boost the speed and performance and ultimately we decided that this really was the one we wanted and had from the beginning. So we went ahead and ordered it on Amazon and while waiting for it to arrive continued to use the Netgear, which continued to perform pretty much the same. Once the Linksys came we set it up and crossed our fingers. Sure enough, the Linksys was only giving us around 600 Kbps. But we went ahead and followed the directions given by another reviewer here and changed the settings. The directions were as follows: "Go to [...] and login to your router. If you've never done this, look for instructions that came with your router or do a google search to find the default username and password. Find a page that has QoS settings. For the E1200, you need to click on "Applications & Gaming" and select the "QoS" sub-menu. (It is the same for the E900 as well) Disable WMM Support. Click save." Once we did this the speed immediately went up to the 25 to 35 Mbps range and has stayed there since. No dropped connections, faster speed than we even expected, and the extra reassurance of knowing that if we do have a problem customer service will be available indefinitely, rather than having to pay for it after the first 90 days (as was the case with the Netgear router). We couldn't be happier with this router, it has made the internet a pleasure to use again and I just wish we had bought it in the first place!

Brought this router to go with my new WIFI tablet at home. I followed the instructions for setup to the letter, but couldn't get the router to connect with my wireless laptop. Went online and used Linksys' chat line for help with the connection and setup. After 3 times on the chat line and on a live phone technical support person, I couldn't get the router and my laptop configured properly. Chat line support staff were helpful, but nothing would work. Next day, I checked to see if my tablet would connect with the router, and it did. But in order for me to connect my laptop with the Internet, I have a hard wire connection from my laptop to the router. The laptop and the router should work wireless and doesn't ... the reason for only 4 stars. The router and the tablet connect perfectly, which is why I bought the router. The router and tablet work fine throughout my house. My only problems were in the installation and setup with the Linksys technical support staff not being able to fix the problems. Got the router for a great price. Not perfect but works.
