I am new to archery
I bought a compound bow before I really looked into how complex archery could be. I knew I wanted to increase my hunting season as my state has both firearms and archery hunting seasons. That was as much thought or motivation as I had for getting into archery. Quickly found myself slightly over my head - never drew a bowstring before in my life. I needed a readily available tension training system that could mimic the draw of a bow. Enter this product. I found some more "high tech" training systems (which if you're looking at this product now you've seen those too). I assure you - this provides plenty of resistance and durability for the novice trainee!!!!! I am not a weak dude but I am not breaking world powerlifting records either -don't get me wrong. I squat and deadlift in the 400lbs neighborhood depending on how up to it I'm feeling that day. BUT THIS BOW TRAINER WEARS ME OUT in a very good, sustainable way. Don't spend 125-150- bucks on the other training gadgets until you've given this 40 dollar product the opportunity to fail you. I doubt that you will be disappointed by this product. Because all you want is a trainer for your draw, correct? Leave the actual practice of archery to the ACTUAL PRACTICE OF SHOOTING. The bow trainer will get your strength where it needs to be for the draw weight that you desire or require. I don't work for Bow Trainer. I'm just a dude in Missouri who wants to shoot turkeys. Out.

Well built, small and light and helps training
I was looking for something that helped me practice and build muscle strength without actually using my bow and potentially dry firing it. This is a nice little product. It is well built, it is small and light. It has a significant variety of resistances to help you train. Because it uses the elastic tubes there are no worries about getting the draw length set. It is a little difficult to get the feel for when you first start to use it, however I quickly overcame that issue with a Sharpie pen and marked the spot that I would nock the bow string. Being honest it is not a bow string and it is not a 100% accurate simulator, but I do not believe that is the point and not what I bought it for.The Bow Trainer helps build strength and it helps me practice my form. I can move and try to see my form from different angles in a mirror to check and make sure my stance is correct. I can move up and down in draw resistance to help me make the most of the time I spend using it. I can complete as many reps as I want. I can use this without having to go outside in the rain or snow. I can safely use it inside without fear of damage to me, my house or my bow. The most important part of this is that I can work the correct muscle groups without the risk of dry firing my bow by accident.

Comfortable archery strength training tool boasting 14 possible draw weights, good for up to 95 lbf
The Bow Trainer is a very comfortable, smooth-drawing exercise tool for training your draw strength and muscular endurance for archery. The rubber cords are fairly large in diameter, which increases the comfort of your fingers when drawing heavier weights, and there is a generous foam handgrip for your bow hand. There are also 14 possible draw weight combinations depending on which cords you select; however, the weight increments between the combinations aren't exactly uniform. There is a sizable gap going from cord 3 (22 lbf) to cord 4 (35 lbf), and also going from cords 2, 3, and 4 (77 lbf) to cords 1, 2, 3, and 4 (95 lbf). Bear in mind this tool is only for practicing your draw, and it is NOT intended to be used as a shot trainer. In my testing, all of the cords draw significantly lighter poundage than what the manual claims. This initially gave me the false impression that I was capable of drawing an impressive 130 lbs. It turns out I was drawing a more mediocre 95 lbs the whole time. So as long as you aren't needing something to help you train for 100+ lbf warbows, this is the training tool you will want. Following are the actual draw weights I measured for the cord combinations with my test rig, all at 32" (manufacturer claimed figures in parentheses for comparison).Cord 1: 18 (22)Cord 2: 20 (26)Cord 3: 22 (32)Cord 4: 35 (50)Cords 1 and 2: 38 (48)Cords 1 and 3: 40 (54)Cords 2 and 3: 42 (58)Cords 1 and 4: 52 (72)Cords 2 and 4: 54 (76)Cords 3 and 4: 57 (82)Cords 1, 2 and 3: 62 (80)Cords 1, 2, and 4: 72 (98)Cords 1, 3, and 4: 75 (104)Cords 2, 3, and 4: 77 (108)Cords 1, 2, 3, and 4: 95 (130)

Back in the game...
I give this a 5 star rating for the following reasons: I am 68 year old outdoors man (fishing, boating, and hunting) who gave up bow hunting 35 years ago due to work and family commitments. Three years ago I purchased a new bow with the intent of getting back into the sport and started to practice. However work commitments got in the way again and I didn't have time to give it my all. I retired 2 months ago and now with time on my hands took the bow out to start practicing for the season. Well I was unable to pull back the bow (set at 45 lbs.) without tremendous shoulder pain. I thought my second attempt to get back into shooting / hunting was gone forever. Well I did some on line research and found out about the Bow Strength Trainer, seen it was rated over 4 and a half stars by 175 plus reviews. I purchased it and have been working out with it for approx 4 weeks now following the instructions. My results have been great, I am now able to shoot 25 arrows per practice session without any shoulder discomfort. I should be back in the deer woods before the end of this season. Thank-you Bow Trainer and Amazon. It worked for me.

Bow Trainer
I love how Bow Trainer as a tool however there is a correct up and down on current version of model based on where handle grip is placed, very similar to any bow with a shelf/target bows or bows like no shelf English longbow/no shelf Asian models.

Well designed bow training aid
I've tried a few different bow training aids to get stronger for pulling compound bows, and to stay in shape. This one is the best design by far. It's closest to actually pulling a bow and has options for various weights. I even added some lead shot to mine to give the bar itself a bit of weight! Do be careful not to overdo with it, and watch your form! But this gets high praise so far.
