Excellent quality knife considering it's budget price. At 8", this is a larger chefs knife and a lot of people find this length too much to handle, so make sure you know what you're ordering. It is pleasingly sharp out of the box with the nicely shaped handle being well finished too. It's not the hardest steel with a rating of 56 but there are advantages in that it will be a bit easier to sharpen and less prone to chipping, it won't retain it's edge for quite as long though. Very capable knife and I'm amazed that you can get this sort of quality for around £20. Fantastic value and highly recommended as a budget knife, it's better than some I've used at 4 times this price.

When using this recently it has been effortless cutting through various different foods. It was especially noticeable when using this to open up some food packaging too, where it basically pierced and cut through stuff like it was slicing through air. Very impressed there.Cleaning this was super easy too, I don't know if it has some coating on it or something but it felt like things wiped off super easily and the water even seems to roll off the blade. Not sure if that is something to do with the blade or just a weird happenstance with something I did.This feels well built and durable. The weight feels nice in the hand, it isn't so light that you don't feel confident in it, but it also doesn't feel overly heavy either. And for the price, this feels like the quality matches or exceeds and offers good value for money.As an added little bonus too, this comes with a nice place sleeve over the blade for safety, and the box it comes in has a nice little magnetic fastening which just feels very premium.

This knife is very impressive!It is well designed with a durable stainless steel blade and full tang for strength and 3 securing rivets. It is a nice size and well balanced. The handle of Pakkawood facilitates a good hold and feels very pleasing. The aesthetics of the knife work as do the ergonomics- it looks right and feels right.The business part of the knife, namely the blade is well ground and very, very sharp. The blade is also protected when not in use by a useful protective sheath allowing in drawer storage if not stored in a knife block.The knife is extremely comfortable to use and cuts meat and vegetables with ease. Both my wife and I have independently used this knife and the unanimous verdict is we are both very impressed.Excellent value for money, recommended!

This Sim Coker 8-inch knife claims to be “crafted from German 1.4116 stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 56±2 HRC”, promising long-lasting durability, corrosion resistance, and precision performance. Sadly, this hasn’t matched reality. After just one week of evening use my knife was already showing signs of rust on the handle and blade, which is disappointing in terms of quality. For clarity, it has never been put in the dishwasher.I also found it to be heavier than my 7-inch Santoku knife and not as easy and comfortable to use. It is sharp at the moment as it’s still new, but I’ve now stopped using it because I find the weight tiring to handle.

Great knife!I'm always wanting better and sharper knives, and this looked worth a try.It comes nicely presented, with a little plastic sheath for safety. So while it's good for your own use it could potentially be a gift too.It looks very well made, feels high quality and has a nice weight and balance to it. It's also nice and sharp (although I have used sharper). So it cuts very easily but not quite 'effortlessly' as the other one I have. However it's way better than most knives I've used.Pricewise I think it's reasonable as good knifes can get very expensive.I do find the shape or length not the best for chopping which is mainly what I use a knife for, but in general it's still good and handy to have in the kitchen.Overall though I'm very happy with it. Looks and feels great, nice and sharp and cuts very easily. Can definitely recommend.
