Versatile radio - locally produced
Bought for DAB+: like to hear Gold! this works really well and I was surprised that I had been listening to DAB+ without extending the aerial! The internet is incredible, so many station available but I have become hooked on Ace Cafe Radio as it plays lots of oldies plus blues and many American artists I haven't even heard of! Sound quality is good for a portable radio (I use it plugged into the mains tho') and I believe it is improving with use as the speaker is run in. Your smart phone can be used as a remote using the 'UNDOK' app too and this is very useful and comprehensive in its features.

Good sound and build quality
I need to purchase a new radio for an elderly person in a care home. They have hearing aids and found their existing radio was too high pitched and needed to be turned up too loud. I read the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere and chose this radio based on the reviews because of the positive feedback on sound and build quality and ease of use, also they liked the retro look having had an older Roberts radio at some point many years ago. Suffice to say it has more than exceeded expectations on those three criteria with the sound pretty amazing from something relatively small. You could buy cheaper radios but this is a quality product and justifies the price. Its plugged into the mains all the time so I can't comment on the battery life etc.

Absolutely excellent device
Great sound, retro design, brimming with features which means I can listen to DAB, play music through my iPhone or connect to a NAS. Best thing is the excellent build quality and sound that comes from a small device,If you want a decent radio, pay the extra and buy this one. you can also fit with rechargeable batteries so its truly portable... I just have mine plugged in to the mains.... its great

Great radio with great USB playback
I was after a way to playback my 200+ CDs, without the need to have some fancy hi tech thing, plus a radio with good sound output that would look in an older house. I did a lot of market research and found many units offering USB playback but most sites were lacking details of how the USB playback performed, e.g. capacities and search options. Then I found the What hifi review of this radio in their internet radio section. I read the detailed online user manual and bought one. Fantastic. It can take a 256gb stick with tracks saved via Windows Media Player. Just a couple of points to note: the stick must be formatted as FAT32, ExFAT32 wont work, but don't panic as there are free utilities online to reformat to FAT32. My high capacity rechargeable batteries only lasted a few hours, but this may improve over time. The UNDOK app works really well and simple to setup. PS my scandisk stick cost £9 for 64gb, I have used 14gb to store 200 CDs.

A great radio that would be 'perfect' with a couple of modifications
This REV-ISTREAM3 'REVIVAL' is my third Roberts purchase - and the most impressive one so far, in terms of performance/sound quality and aesthetic appeal. Its neat and compact appearance is pleasing to the eye (my model is dark brown in colour) with its gold metal details on the handle and grille on the front - as well as the Roberts name above it - combined with the brown, Harry Roberts 'handbag' covering, all of which add a touch of 'class' to the overall appearance. As soon as you take it out of the box for the first time you know you are handling something 'classic' and of quality, in terms of design and construction.I must disclose at this point that I only use my ISTREAM3 as an Internet radio, as where I live does not have any DAB service and the local radio is something I avoid like the plague. As such, I can only comment on the Internet Radio function, in terms of sound and performance. The sound and performance are really quite delightful - better, I would say, than my trusty Roberts Stream 93i, which has served me well for a number of years now, but which was starting to look (and even sound) a little long in the tooth, hence the decision to take the plunge and go for the ISTREAM3 as an 'upgrade', which it has proven to be since it arrived a month or so ago now.I must also disclose here that whilst the sound and performance are delightful with the ISTREAM as a stand-alone device, as I quickly discovered once it had been set-up for Internet Radio (easily and quickly, of course, as is always the case with Roberts radios), I do have my set connected to my external loudspeakers (Edifier S3000 Pro) which can be connected either by bluetooth or by cable. I am currently using a cable (QED Reference) connected to the speakers via the headphone socket on the ISTREAM3 and the combination of all three serves to enhance the sound quality even further, especially when I turn the volume up perhaps rather higher than my neighbours would appreciate! So far so good. However, I have not given this product a 'perfect' score for overall rating as I do have two reservations here, which 'denied' it such an award.Firstly, the location of the headphone socket referred to above, means that my QED Reference Cable has to be inserted into the top of the ISTREAM3, resulting in it resembling some form of red umbilical cord emerging from its proverbial womb and so having a negative impact on the overall aesthetic appeal. Had the location been on the back (as it is on the iStream93) then this would not be an issue.Secondly, I only have my ISTREAM3 connected to the mains and never use batteries (hence the reason why I have indicated no score for battery life, as this is not relevant to me). However, I do have an issue with the location of the DC input socket, which is on the bottom of the radio and so not exactly easy to access. Why is the DC input socket not (also) on the back of the radio (again, as with the iStream 93)? I am sure Roberts will say there are practical or aesthetic reasons for this, but I do not think they would be immediately obvious to someone setting-up their ISTREAM3 for the first time.Overall, therefore, and notwithstanding the two qualifications outlined above, I am delighted with my ISTREAM3 - in terms of both sound/performance, as well as appearance. I understand and appreciate the fact that it has many more functions and capabilities than I use it for, but even with my restricted use of these I would heartily recommend this radio to anyone who is considering buying an ISTREAM3, but is not sure whether to do so or not, based on the pleasure and enjoyment I have derived from it since it first arrived in February.Furthermore, as far as those 'quirky' headphone and DC socket locations are concerned, I suppose Roberts would be perfectly justified in responding to my comments by arguing that if you are buying a 'retro-style' radio that is meant to look like one from the 50s-60s (at least) then you must expect some of its features to also 'belong' to those years!

Great radio, old school looks but all the modern features.
I am thoroughly enjoying this radio, it looks great, sounds great and has all the modern features that I could wish for.The sound quality is excellent and it has preset EQ's as well as the ability to adjust the EQ to your own taste. Internet radio is a great feature as well as Bluetooth.I can highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a great radio with modern features.

Great sound, Great for Internet Radio & DAB+
I upgraded to this model to access DAB+The bonus is the ability to add a wide range of Internet Stations, managed through a webapp.Really enjoying it so far.The battery status goes from green (fully charged) to red very quickly, although I think this may be due to the NiMH batteries that I have. I would recommend Duracell 2500 mAH batteries, rather than other 2800mAH varieties.
