Having the filter run a few days now, and seeing how clean the air is currently (no dust visible when looking towards a sunny window.) The short of it is The Model 50255 will use this filter element: "BlueBird Filters Replacement HEPA Filter & Carbon Pre Filter Kit For Honeywell 50250 50250-S OE". And it being a reasonable price and being "Made in USA", I was more confident in it though initially this was a bit of a gamble as described folows:I bought this for a Honeywell (KAZ) air filter that I had rescued from someone's trash, The filter I had in it was one from another salvaged Honeywell filter that I had salvaged previously a few years earlier that had the fan motor burn out after running for 4 or 5 months (and that filter element had no numbers on it, but since it fit the filter I used it).. So this was a slight gamble for me as the model number of my filter was not listed though I suspected it might be a "Model series" as the actual model number for the unit I have a photo of, with another photo of the ID sticker that indicated it was a "KAZ model 50255". (so technically a "50250" series.).It was packaged very well. Even if the filter had not been bagged, I would have used it as the sealed box would have had very little air flow (so the filter would still be clean), but the bag builds confidence in the cleanliness for the consumer.The "Proof is in the pudding" as they say, and the last image shows the raised area the filter had to fit around to be considered "the right filter", and it is a very good fit, the product description as well as one of the reviews had mentioned the dimension, which is helpful more than people realize. (Height, Diameter of the outside and the Inside Diameter.) And most importantly- no odor.The rubber end seals of the Bluebird filter element are a soft elastomer that will conform and seal the top and bottom of the filter to the housing so only airflows through the filter media. I will buy this again in the future.

I had to let the polyurethane offgas in a shed for about 4 months before I could use this in my home because the filter is for purpose of removing toxic stuff from air not adding it but I set up about a month ago near an open window and ran it for several hours each day for a few days and now it is running clean air and will likely last five or more years. I wish companies making HEPA filter a would use something besides polyeurethane which takes a long time to offgas, but this company was very easy to work with and much less expensive then Honeywell replacement parts. I recommend them but buy a couple months before you really need it so you have time to let the polyeurethane "cure" and stop offgassing. I am very sensitive to smells but even if you aren't you still don't want kids and pets exposed with smaller lungs

Price was right a couple years ago it was more to get direct from honeywellk

I’ve tried another brand of replacement filter and it made a loud humming noise. This Bluebird filter fits correctly and makes no noise. Good replacement filter.
