Heavy duty cable with a nice finish
I ordered this for the most trivial of tasks -- I simply needed to plug in USB peripherals at a further distance. So I'm using it primarily for a mouse at the moment, and for that use it functions great. While I can't speak much to data transfer rates, I'll say it's a quite robust cable (almost the width of a pen!) and had a great fit and finish. It plugs into a USB port the same as any other cable, and has a nice silver bezel around the female end of the plug. It's a USB 3.0 cable and has the appropriately colored blue tab to indicate it as such. I'm overall happy with this product enough that I would buy others from the same manufacturer.

Great Extension Cable
If you're looking for an extension cable for basically any USB item you have, you can't go wrong with this one. This is an active USB 3.0 extension cable, 5 feet long. It will give you quite a lot of extra space to use with your USB electronic. Being active means it is built for high-speed data transfer without losing any speed, depending on the length, like you can with non-active cables. I use this with my PC game controllers to cut out any chance of delay in the button presses. Works great as a data cable, also. Highly Recommended.

Extends my USB webcam
I needed to extend a USB webcam about 25 feet. I tried passive USB extension cables and could only add an extra 10 feet (the camera had a built in 6 foot cable). With this active cable in the middle, it boosts the signal and I can use a passive extension before and after this active one. So instead of a maximum of 16 feet (10 foot passive, plus 6 foot camera cable), I was able to go 31 feet with a 10 foot passive cable, then this 5 foot active cable, then another 10 foot passive cable, then the camera 6 foot cable. The camera is rock solid with no issues extended to that length.

Nice active USB-3 extension cable, albeit quirky in my test
This Zvoiykm USB 3.0 active extension cable is superbly made. There isnโt anything to criticize in terms of build quality, construction and appearance. I ordered this cable for older and slower external drives and peripherals with USB 3.0 speed (5Gbps or slower) which usually are not connected all the time but occasional data retrieval. Since the docks and hubs are connected with several fast peripherals (thunderbolt or USB-4) with short high-speed cables, itโs crowded near the laptop and dock. For my purpose, I wanted to use this active extension cable connected to a slower port (5Gbps) of the dock and connect the peripherals far away form the crowded area without losing extra speeds instead of using normal extension cable. This is an active extension cable meaning it has signal repeater and booster chip built into the connector. Any normal extension cable at the speed of 5Gbps in the span of 5ft length would lose some speed and signal strength because of purely signal degradation over the wire resistance. This active extension cable would retain normal transfer speed and signal strength over the long span between ports and the peripherals without any noticeable degradation or delay. In my test setup, I tested an external SSD on a 10Gbps-rated port, cable and NVME enclosure, The CrystalDiskMark image shows the 10Gbps speed within reason. Then, I plugged the same setup with this extension cable and expected 5Gbps-rated speed (1/2 the speed), but realistically 450-480MBps. The test shows upper 320-370MBps (slow but decent) read and write speed with this extension cable. I would expect a lot less with a cable without active repeater and booster. Itโs acceptable speed with 5ft of cable length with a tremendous routing flexibility with any peripheral, slower speed peripherals in particular. In another test for copying a large file using this cable, I noticed a kind of stop and go type of copying performance. When it goes, it reaches the speed shown in the CrystalDiskMark test, then stops momentarily, and repeats. It seems like a filling a buffer or something like that. I havenโt seen this kind of copying behavior on any setup before. Also, I noticed the Windows failed to recognize the USB drive at the end of this cable on certain ports. This is supposed to be plug and play without any special driver and backwards compatible to USB 2 and 1. I just donโt know why this cable didnโt work on a certain port on different dock or hub. I would recommend to try different port if a certain port does not work with this cable. Although this cable shows some quirky performance, itโs an excellent extension cable for USB 3 peripherals and printers, mouse, keyboards and other slower peripherals as well. I liked the look and feel of this cable and the price as well. Itโs so convenient to plug in a peripheral where you want it without worrying about too much speed loss or crowded desktop space. This is I would say an essential (if not, very nice to have) accessory for any computing setup.

Nothing worst then coming up short
Works perfectly out the bag. Very fast and easy to plug and play any USB 3.0 connector cable. I move around and work from all sort of new places so having a quality long cable is paramount. I already have a good 8 footer but that comes up short from time to time so this is the perfect addition to my bag to cover those "time to times'. It is hight quality build, thick and flexible, and feels like a very high quality build. The fact it is thick yet wraps up tightly enough to easily toss in my bag is a huge plus for these length lifesavers.

Worked Perfectly For My Sim Rig
I used this to extend my racing simulator setup so my Thrustmaster TX Ferrari wheel could reach my PC without rearranging my whole setup. Plugged it into a Windows PC, hooked up the wheel, and it worked right away. No drivers, no fiddling, just connected and ready to go racing. I was a little worried about adding an extension to a racing wheel, but performance has been solid. No dropouts, no lag, and no weird disconnects during play sessions. Build quality feels better than a cheap cable. The connectors fit snug, the cable is flexible enough to route cleanly, and it does not feel fragile. For the price, it feels great. Overall, it did exactly what I bought it for and I would recommend it to anyone extending USB gear for a sim rig or desk setup.

I didnโt think a 1.5m cable needed to be active, but a requirement for stability and consistency might call for one. Especially useful in electrically noisy setups. โ Pros: - Maintains full USB 3.0 (5Gbps) speeds thanks to the active repeater chip - Decent build quality with thick cable and snug connectors - Reliable signal even in noisy environments (cars, desks, crowded hubs) - Works great for external drives, VR gear, dongles, webcams and hubs - Plug-and-play - Good value for the price โ Cons: - Cable is thicker and stiffer than basic passive extensions - 1.5 length may be short for larger VR or room-scale setups

Excellent quality cable and the full aluminium casing on the ports is both durable and visually appealing. The cable supports usb 3.0 transfer speeds with a simple easy to use USB A to A connection and the 1.5 meter length is perfect for my requirements. At under ยฃ8 at time of review I think this is definitely worth the money and leagues ahead of the basic cheaper ones I've had previously.

I used this cable to move a Zigbee aerial away from the server location to improve range, and it has performed perfectly. By creating that distance, Iโve achieved a stable signal completely free from interference. The build quality is impressive; the cable has a nice touch of rigidity rather than being overly flimsy, which helps it stay in place once positioned. It worked seamlessly with my Proxmox server and a Windows 10 machine in a separate setup, proving it's versatile across different environments. Given the low price and the immediate improvement in connectivity, Iโm very happy with this purchase. It is a simple, effective solution for anyone needing to optimize their smart home coordinator's placement.

This is one super high quality cable at a really good price. I am not sure if it is really 'active' (as at only 1.5m it hardly needs to be) but it is definitely high grade so perfect for high speed/critical solutions. Thick smooth abrasion resistant sheaving, well moulded ends, and all round high quality. if you need a 1.5m USB3 extension then grab this - you will not regret it.

An active cable is always preferred in my household - never know when you need to use it for a higher-power-than-normal USB device, or chain extension cables together. Active cables are best! This cable works without any fuss or additional steps - just plug in your devices on one end, and a computer on the other, and everything works. The USB-A form factor is fine, still useful, and the USB3.0 speeds are great and work as described for me. This is a very good cable overall, and helps a lot with some of the USB peripherals I need to use sometimes. Good stuff here!
