Great Curriculum for People with Developmental Disabilities!
I am a life skills instructor for adults with Developmental Disabilities in Illinois. My organization has been using this curriculum for over 5 years to teach health promotion classes to the individual we serve. I am so excited to have this new edition! The curriculum was developed specifically for persons with DD, so as an instructor I have to make very few modifications to meet the cognitive needs of my class participants. The curriculum is broken up into 36 interactive, user-friendly modules, each with a specific lesson about living healthy lifestyles. The structure of each lesson makes it easy for an instructor or a direct support staff to walk into a learning environment with all of the tools and resources they need to teach a lesson on health promotion. The curriculum also includes handouts and activities for class participants that are fun and informative. The curriculum comes with a CD-ROM of all of the participant handouts, which makes them very accessible for instructors.I highly recommend this curriculum to anyone working in the Developmental Disability field who has an interest in teaching Health Promotion.
