Working as intended. For me and my basic use as a music/vocal/FX enthusiast I find this cable to be a worthy, and quality cable to keep for all my XLR-based needs. Only issue (not the cables fault) is that it is not long enough after rearranging my setup/positioning of my mic. I will have to order a longer cable to fix this issue. A simple Pros and Cons List below.Pros:-Cheap-Decent size-strong connections-a worth cable to keepCons:-Feels a little lose where the cable connects to the both connectors casing - feels like I might yank it out by mistake.

I bought this cord back when I was doing voiceover work. I've done roughly 20 years on the air and knew I wanted quality all around, but didn't want to pay a thousand bucks for something so basic. This little mic cable was exactly what I wanted and the price was very reasonable. It's studio quality and plugs into a standard mic connector on a pro-level mixer board. Just be conscious of the length. If this is for studio work it should work fine. For stage performance, you'll probably need something longer.This is a piece of basic gear that every musician or deejay will want in their sound-equipment toolbox. It's a good solid performer.

First off, I'd like to point out that mine was DOA. One of the wires on one end was not soldered on properly and broke off before arriving. I would have replaced it, and I'm sure Amazon would have gladly complied, but I got a used one from someone else which actually ended up being better, but more on that later.Pros:-It's cheap (not expensive).-Assuming it isn't defective, it would probably be a good pick for someone with a cheap condenser mic or some other XLR device.Cons:-It's cheap, and doesn't feel very solid, and soldering may be shoddy.-While, yes, it is a 3-pin XLR cable, it only uses two of them. One of the pins (negative, I believe) is shorted to the ground. Now, XLR cables have three pins for a reason. One pin is a positive, another is negative and the last is ground. The ground is the reference voltage for both the positive and negative cables. When entering the cable, the signals going through the positive and negative cables are (ideally) identical, but inverted. As the signal passes through and the environmental noise alters one signal, it will do effectively the same alteration on the other considering they are so close. When the signals reaches the other end of the cable, the controller can invert the negative signal, overlay the positive and negative, and the errors caused by noise will be fixed thanks to our good friend Physics.The reason I gave it two stars instead of three or four is that nowhere on the page does it say that it is only a two-wire cable, and the title may even cause some to wrongfully believe that all three pins are actually used as they should be.
