Excellent Holster
Due to my size, 6' 4" 270 lbs, I find most holsters annoying and any IWB holsters are just not practical. I have a drawer full of holsters that I have tried out for my Kimber CDP Pro 4" 1911. All of them have something wrong with them that makes me not want to wear them ever again. I have had the Galco Combat master for 6 months now and all I can say is that it is the most comfortable and practical of all. In the wintertime, I choose to wear at 3 o'clock carry position because i usually have some type of heavy over shirt or jacket that conceals very well. The holster is 4 1/2" long which initially concerned me that 1/2" would be sticking down past the barrel when it really did not need to. I have come to like the extra 1/2" because it protects the barrel, but even more than that, it prevents the barrel from contacting something while seated which could cause the gun to ride up out of its fully seated position, no more need to constantly check to see if the gun is about to fall out. This position also allows access to all 4 pants pockets. During the summertime in Texas, even the lightest jacket is just too much, so I have switched to a 6 o'clock carry position because the pistol butt is tucked in tight against the small of my back where a t-shirt or untucked short sleeve shirt covers extremely well, and again allowing access to all 4 pockets. the cant of the holster also places the gun within easy reach. When worn in this position, there is no trouble sitting in normal chairs, but it is a problem when driving. When I am driving, I just remove the gun from the holster and place it in my center console. The holster folds flat to the point where I cannot even feel it anymore against my back. Currently the holster shows no signs of loosing its shape, and in my opinion actually holds the gun more securely now than when it was brand new. I believe it is due to the action of the belt which bends the holster making it grip the gun very tightly but not so tight to make drawing an issue. I like the holster so much that I will order a couple more of the Combat Masters on the outside chance that Galco decides to change the design or discontinue. I recommend this holster if you are looking for a comfortable concealed carry and if your like me, this will be the last holster you ever buy.

Absolutely beautiful. Well worth the price.
Very high quality, just as described. Leather is beautiful, and craftsmanship is superb.I bought this for my Sig 1911 carry 5.11 Tactical edition. It's a commander size gun, and Sigs have a wider thicker slide. They don't fit many normal 1911 holsters. What I did was placed the gun in a plastic bag, wet the holster, and tightly pressed the gun into the holster, I then used various rounded tools, a rounded handle of a butter knife seemed to work the best. I formed the leather around the trigger guard, all around the slide, etc. for a perfect fit. Left it overnight, and it worked perfect. The reason I went through all this, is I really love the open top style of the Combat Master, but they don't make it for my particular Sig. The holster is EXACTLY what I wanted, so I custom fitted it and it turned out absolutely perfect. We don't have open carry here in IL, but I do concealed carry it from time to time under a light jacket.Galco always makes top quality holsters. Any of their products are well worth the money.

Great holster
This holster was recommended by others for my Springfield Armory Garrison .45 1911 4.25 inch barrel.I relied on their advice when I purchased it.I love the holster and it is very nice. I recommend wrapping the gun in wax paper and leaving it in the holster for a few days. This helps the gun to slide in and out of the holster well.

Good value
Fits my 1911 well and sits well on my hip. No problems at all. Looks nicely made entirely! Good holster for a reasonable price without having to go to true customs, if one of the custom shops even has your gun to model, or you give your gun to a builder to do a real custom. Remember there are two models like this and this is the Combat Master.

Great product.
Photo is incorrect for product purchased. Model purchased is fitted to a Colt, 1911, Commander, 4.25". Apprehensive about the price / quality relationship until the product was received. Well made, great fit to the pistol, close to the body. Roughly $50 savings over what I had been considering. Recommend for anyone interested in a quality product at a fair price.

Very comfortable holster!
This is the most comfortable holster I have ever used. It took about 2 days to break in. It's everything I hoped it wold be.

Too Tight despite extended, proper breakin.
This holster is too tight. I tried for three weeks to get it broken in. Wrapped the gun in two layers of plastic, left it for days, worked it in and out as well as slight twisting. The gun still sticks in the holster requiring excessive force to pull it out. Return not accepted at this point so I am stuck with junk.
