3,000 Solved Problems in Electrical Circuits

Excellent and cheap
I've been using Schaum's Outline series for over 30yrs now. I have always found them to be of the highest quality. In fact, while I have found errors in many textbooks, I have never found one in a Schaum's.This is my first experience with their worked problems series. It is a much more informal presentation. Many of the diagrams are hand drawn and the style is not completely consistent. A petty matter. I have been working through the DC resistance sections and found it just excellent. There seem to be at least several examples of every circuit problem that I have looked up. They are all solved, with well explained steps.Other reviewers have mentioned finding mistakes. I am saddened to hear that. So far I have not encountered any but I am not working through the text systematicaly.

Excellent Tool for Getting Electronics Into Your Head
Problems and labs are the way to learn math and science. This book will give your brain the exercise it needs.

How much do you know?
When I first wanted to buy this book, the reviews weren't that helpful. Alot of issues with mistakes and proof reading. My background is one of electronics, I have over 100 semester hours in electrical engineering from a major college. So before you buy this book, let me point out some things.First, this isn't an introductry book for electronics, If your looking for a guide buy something else I highly recommend Anyway back to the review: This book covers several items which I spent several years learning in college all 4 years. It is filled with integration, and other wonderful calculus and physics formulas. If you are afraid of upper level math, don't buy this. It goes WAY beyond introductry courses, and will not explain how or why.On the other side of the house. If you have a background in Electronics, heavy in theory. If you are alittle rusty or just trying to revive those long dead brain cells, this book is excellent. Yes there are a few mistakes, but as your working the problem, its very easy to spot, missed decimal places etc. I'm currently using this book to prep for the US Postal Electronics Tech Test. I anticipate this will cover everthing I need, with the exception of number conversions, binary to decimal etc. That might be covered, but first glance I didn't see it.So in summary, if an Integration sign scares you, or If you have watched "Good Will Hunting" and have never seen the symbols he writes on the mirror, or have never heard of Kirchhoff, vectors, Thev Eq, or even Ohms Law don't buy this. If you have seen or done the above, your pretty safe.I hope this helps.

Out of date.
This book will be very useful in case the authors update it. Good quantity but not so much quality. I intend to buy a new version.

Excellent review book.
This is a great review for any EE's who are going to be taking a test, or just want to review everything they learned in college 30 years ago, like me. I'm only on the chapter 2 problems so far, and have found 1 error (Problem 1.12) so far. Is there a list of errors anywhere online? I'd love to know before I spend an extra 30 minutes going over and over something because my answer is the correct one, and the book's isn't.

Wow #4
This is a very good book for certain engineers - it is very thorough and wide ranging and will, as it claims, meet 75% of their needs. As a physicist, however, I was a little bit disappointed in the coverage and treatment, which were different (and contained important omissions) from what I expected; "fuller", more rounded treatments can be found in many other "electric circuits" books, for example on Amazon's pages. Just one example - most books treat first order circuits as a separate topic and introduce FODEs and other differential equation topics, including integrating factors, in a big way (or are these out of fashion these days with so much solution software around)?I have not looked at every page of this book but think I may have found a little of something I wanted along the lines above - but not in the disciplined, comprehensive way I preferAnd YES - I did read the contents before buying!Lastly, I know I am comparing standard texts with a solutions manual but surely the basic contents should be similar
