Great source for repair and maintenance information

I recently purchased a RAV4 and needed to repair a few things. This manual provided the directions, the torque specs, fluid specs and capacities that I needed.Great manual!!

I had this book on loan from my library district for easily 9 months constantly renewing it. I mostly used it for torque specs for various things such as replacing my rear brakes and calipers, drive shaft, transmission pan filter, AC system, etc. Most of the stuff I can get on the internet and find videos for but it is still nice have and read some of the ways things are described. I only gave it 4 stars because I've had this on my wishlist for awhile and decided to finally buy... however the price increased from $25 to $30 which is absurd but I bought it anyway as I didn't want to keep renewing from the library, though I probably should have. The other reason to give it 4 stars is it can be confusing trying to discern between the Gen 2 models (pre 2006) and the Gen 3 models, especially since in some cases there are changes from after 08 and with the V6. Really should be separate books for Gen 2 and Gen 3.

This is the repair manual to have for older Rav4's.

In my opinion, the Haynes manual is the best manual because of how in depth it is compared to chilton manuals.

This manual covers the RAV4 up to generation 3. It is written in typical Haynes fashion, clearly, with illustrations, and keeping in mind that it is being used by 'shade tree mechanics.' It is an excellent tool to help me teach my son how to perform basic upkeep and maintenance on his car. I pretty much purchase a Haynes manual for every car our family owns.Book arrived quickly and in new condition.

If you have an older RAV4 the manual is fine. But the information for 2008 or so on is lacking. I have a 2010 with the v6. It's not quite useless for my application.
