Teva Women's Hurricane 4

This is my first pair of Tevas and my first time trying an open-toe hiking shoe. At first, I was a little hesitant since getting rocks inside a shoe is never fun, but overall, I’ve really enjoyed them. The first test was wearing them to work as a kindergarten teacher, and I was pretty cautious with my feet. Thankfully, I had no discomfort. The real challenge came when I took them on a five-mile hike in the San Rafael Swell, Utah. While I did get some rocks and sand under my feet, unlike my closed-toe sandals, it was much easier to shake them out. I also love how adjustable the straps are, which is great for when my feet swell throughout the day or if I decide to wear socks. The grip is impressive—I even gave my husband a scare by testing how well they held onto a rock, but no slipping at all! I originally wanted a size 8.5, but Amazon didn’t have it, so I went with an 8. They fit well and don’t cause discomfort, though I do think the half-size up would have been a better choice. So far, they’ve worked great for walking at school, field day, hiking in the desert, gardening, and paddleboarding. They rinse off easily and still look good after all that use. Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase!

My wife purchased the Teva Women’s Hurricane 4 Sandals and went half a size down from her usual 7 to a 6.5, which turned out to be a perfect fit. The sandals are lightweight yet sturdy, with straps that keep the foot secure without causing rubbing or discomfort. The highlight for her was the excellent traction and slip-resistance—so reliable that she wore them during a hike in Yosemite and found them both comfortable and functional the entire way. For anyone looking for sandals that balance comfort, durability, and trail-ready grip, the Hurricane 4 is an excellent choice. Stylish enough for casual wear, yet tough enough for real outdoor use—highly recommended.

I bought the Teva Women’s W Hurricane 4 Sandal for a month of adventures — and they’ve exceeded every expectation. I wore them through humid hikes in Costa Rica, long walks around Dana Point, a full studio tour at Warner Brothers, and a marathon day at Disneyland — and my feet never complained once. They’re lightweight, supportive, and dry quickly after beach walks or sudden tropical rain. The adjustable straps make them secure but never tight, and the grip is solid even on wet or uneven ground. I love that they go easily from trail to casual dinner without looking too “sporty.” If you’re planning a trip where you’ll be walking for hours, these are worth every penny. After four destinations and hundreds of steps, I can honestly say — these Tevas are my travel MVPs.

Update: Wore these on hikes in Montana and these were awesome. I did not slip or fall on steep inclines/declines, rocks, wet rocks, etc. I pretty much wore these almost every day of my trip for sight seeing and for less aggressive hikes. They are so comfortable and also very cute. I love them!! They are true to size in my opinion. I did not need to size up or down. I also have high arches and these are so comfy and just a great fit. No blisters and no discomfort and I had not had time to break them in. This is my first pair of Teva’s. Excited to see how they do on a hike in Montana. My daughter swears by these so I am trying them out. I love the print and color of these, love that all the straps are adjustable. Very excited to break them in. True to size - I did not need to size up or down. 9 fits perfect. I have high arches so will see how they feel after a good walk/hike. Width of shoe is perfect, nicely cushioned and bottom of shoes like like they will grip surfaces well.

What I love: Footbed is naturally nice and wide, most all Teva sandals are. Most all Teva sandals have wonderful arch support, which is a must to avoid plantar fasciitis, a very painful and avoidable foot condition--arch support and a good soft foot bed where the ball of your foot rests are a Must! Teva sandals are excellent for going hiking in and are non-slip when wet, so your foot doesn't slip off of andbout of the sandals...so perfect for river tubing and creek foraging! Nothing worse than to think you have the perfect shoe -- until you try wading in them and they are dangerously slick. Teva sandals are completely non-slip. Love them for that because I am constantly rinsing my feet off to rinse grime off my feet. (I own and operate a doggy DayCamp and Kennel-free Boarding business and dogs and water go hand in hand and it won't do to be slip-sliding out in the dog yards! They are very, very durable. My 22 year old pair finally had the sole split, I have been gluing them back together, but because my feet frequently are wet and with the extreme heat the glue failed and I nearly fell flat on my face running and playing with the dogs. Thing is, if all washed up, they look practically brand new...just the split sole situation on both sandals...so I had to break down and buy a new pair of Hurricanes. What I don't love: While the new Hurricane Teva sandals fit wonderfully, Teva has gotten stingy with the velcro portion on the straps!🥺😤 one of the reasons I love Teva sandals is they naturally have a nice wide foot bed to accommodate my 7W feet. By being stingy with the velcro, though the straps themselves are quite lengthy enough, only a little over 1/3 of each strap has velcro. So, the portion across the toes is only connected by maybe 1/2" (if that) of velcro securing the toe straps. Why change a good thing, Teva?? Velcro closures need more connection than a mere 1/2"🙆🏻 Because of the stinginess that Teva has shown regarding the velcro, I could only rate at 4 stars.

The Terra Fi 5 are great sandals. As with most sandals, they take a little while to break-in. But once they do, they are very comfortable and keep your feet anchored in place. The style is simple and not very exciting, but these are intended for long hikes, not fashion. The sandals are heavier and stiffer than most other Teva offerings. They are very comparable to Chacos or the Bedrock Cairns. The break-in process, unfortunately, can be very painful. Due to the way the sandals are constructed, they will do a lot of rubbing against your heels. The result can be chaffing, blistering, or something in between. It's not pleasant and it can take many days to fully break-in. This is the unfortunate reality of virtually all footwear, but given the stiffness of these sandals, it's particularly pronounced. So be prepared to have some messed up heels for a few days. But once they are broken in, it's worth it. GO DOWN A SIZE! I normally wear a size 10, but the Terra Fi size 10 was too large. Had a lot of space in front of my toes. Going down to size 9 made a huge difference. (Tevas in general seem to be fairly big so I'd recommend going down 1-2 sizes). You want the front straps just behind your toes, not covering them. Getting the sizing right is very important with any pair of sandals, especially ones like these that are intended for long hikes. You will absolutely hate the look and feel of these sandals if the sizing is wrong. The Terra Fi can weigh you down as it is intended for serious hiking and multi-day trips. They are overkill for everyday wear and most light hiking. If that is what you are interested in, I would recommend the Hurricane line over the Terra Fi. The Hurricanes are lighter and have a softer footbed, available in more colors, and is geared more towards less strenuous activities, while emulating the look of the Terra Fi.

These sandals are so very cute! They are super comfy, and great quality! I am very pleased with the purchase! I am able to take long walks with no foot discomfort!

I love Teva sandals SO MUCH!!! The anatomical footbed makes it comfortable for all day walking/hiking. The three adjustable straps allow for customization to each foot. These sandals last forever, my previous hurricane sandals are over 15 years old and are still in good shape but can only walk in them for errands and lawn work. This new pair is for a trip where I will be doing a lot of walking. These sandals also can go from splashing in puddles to looking great in a nice restaurant. If you do plan on being in the water, tighten the straps a little for a more stable fit and avoid your foot from sliding. Also, the tread on these are fantastic for walking/hiking on all different surfaces-rocks, dirt, grass, sand, or concrete. They hold up great and get super clean with a little sudsy water & the garden hose. I’ve tried other brands but always return them and get new Tevas.

The brand itself is reliable but unsure of the size. Seems right as previously bought a wrong one

Not as fashionable at the xlt2 but this sandal is pretty good buy. The problem with tevas in general though, is how the last toe is somewhat squashed by the strap but if you choose to size up the sandal ends up like snorkeling flippers.

Si vienen amplias en cuanto al ancho, sin embargo, no afecta su funcionamiento. Pensé que eran alas de mariposa pero son flores? Definitivamente un básico para reducir nuestra huella ambiental pues, no dudo que duren más de 10 años de uso, además de ser super versátiles, para el super, para ir de camping, al río, andar en bici, pasear a los peques, etc

Strong, sturdy, supportive sandal. Love the sole . Colour could be brighter
