Great product for replacing missing snaps. I used it on my searay canvas. They go on easily and say put, but I am still careful in removing the snaps when I take off the canvas and I never let guests do it, as they tend to grab the canvas above the snap area, pull hard and cause problems. The best things guests on our boat can do, is sit down and shut up! We don't need their 'help!'

Perfect snap kit, used it to repair broken / missing snaps on a boat cover, and it was simple. The snaps are high quality, and the kit includes the tools needed. All you need is a small hammer to peen the two-piece open-ended snap with the included reamer. The snap bases screw into the opposite surface with a screwdriver. I didn't need to replace any of the base snaps on my boat, the existing bases were compatible, but the installation of the base is easy to do. I plan on buying another kit as a spare.

You get what you pay for, thin metal and cheap. The snaps come apart fairly easily. The snap is strong.. enough. The fabric connection is good as it is mechanical. The base where you screw in is FRAGILE. I installed 12 snaps and 4 broke in the first 3 minutes of testing taking them on and off. I don't know what is heavy-duty about these snaps, but these are by far not heavy-duty. Once used, it's not like you can send them back. Very disappointing. Easy to install but don't count on strength.
