Still think 3M Duct tape is the best
DUCT tape like this (not the misheard DUCK tape which became a brand name of itself) is so useful for so many temporary fixes and tasks. I have tried a few different ones, and DUCK tape is actually very very good but my personal favourite is the standard 3M Duct tape. Good adhesion and "tearability" when using without needing scissors if you tear it right.

The sticky is very good compared to other cheaper brands. Does what it says and strong adhesive.

Top brand for a reason
This tape is tough and adheres well to most clean surfaces. Better than 'the cheap stuff'.

Nice and sticky
This was bought to act as an ant barrier on a tree, sticky side out. Thinner than expected when unwrapped. But then what do I know? - as I have never bought duct tape before. Preferred this to the gardeners' sticky tape as they were all complaining about sticky deposits and how difficult it was to get off their hands. Time will tell if this has had any effect. But still if I've got any ducts that need taping - what are they? - I will be ready to go.

Very good for what it is
This is *not* one of the high-end 3M tapes. On the 3M UK website it's called 'General Purpose Duct Tape 2903', which is not the name on Amazon. The 3M description is: '... a versatile, canvas canvas [sic.] made of polyethylene film on canvas fabric and a synthetic rubber finish. A good choice for general maintenance, bundling, wrapping, fastening, sealing and protection ...' So in other words you don't use it to keep a jet fighter together, but it's really good for parcels, or for bundling cardboard together for recycling.It's hard to find a duct tape that tears cleanly, with no odd strands. This works. You have to pay over a fiver to get a duct tape that's in the clean-tear zone, so if that's what you want, for general domestic use, this will do the job. I had a Swedish duct tape before this, and this is about as good, for less. Winner.

Probably ok for many things but not for sealing tears in office chair upholstery
I used this tape to patch up some ripped bits in an office chair. After a few weeks some of the tapecame loose.
