The Yamaha RX-A3080 receiver is significantly bigger than I expected
I will be looking for a deeper entertainment center. However, the Yamaha RX-A3080 functions very well even though the rear end of the unit overhangs the shelf by more than 3 inches. If shelving is not adjustable, the unit height may be an issue for some cabinets. The unit is a very big box and is very heavy. The size can interfere with necessary air circulation. The marketplace assumes that all consumers have internet access because there is NO documentation in the box and the User Guide and Quick Setup Guide must be downloaded from the vendor web site. The installation complexity depends on user experience and user configuration. The pending firmware update requires a download via internet. My installation experience was uncomplicated because I had planned the upgrade of my old Yamaha to the RX-A3080. I used the Bi-Amp feature to drive the Font Main speakers. Except for some crossed connections that the automatic speaker setup reported, my significant issue was stuffing this monster into my existing cabinet. The remote control is well built and a bit unbalanced because the head is heavier than the tail. My remaining experience is the learning of new features, new menus, and new remote. The sounds have been wonderful!

Decent product for being a refurbished.
I am satisfied with the sound and overall performance of the product, everything works as it should.

DOA: Yamaha RX-A3080 refurbished unit that never worked.
This AV Receiver arrived non functional out the box from the seller. No sound was coming out of the front and center channel speakers. Sound only coming from the two surround speakers. Understood it was a refurbished units but at least some quality assurance check should have been performed before reselling the unit. I post this review to advise anyone considering purchasing one of these refurbished units to think twice.

Clear 3D audio and amazing video improvement!
I had a Pioneer VSX90 Elite prior to this. I'm absolutely amazed by how much better the audio is with the exact same setup. The speakers I had were not being utilized to their full potential. The 3d sound recreation is amazing. I (and wife who normally says nothing) noticed better video clarity in general on our OLED. The HDR seems to pop more than before. I'd say it was my imagination, but like mentioned, my wife agrees and she generally refuses to acknowledge anything good about my AV hobby.

Yamaha quality as always
Replacement for a Yamaha RX-A2040 same great sound, a lot more bells and whistles. Highly customizable sound profiles and plenty of power.

Good value for the price, shop around for a deal, I got mine refurbished but good as new.
Processes 11 channels, add an amp for 7.2.4 surround sound.
