Perfect carafe, for an irreplaceable Braun
So If you have one of the great old irreplaceable Braun coffee makes that use this carafe you have no choice but to pay the ridiculous price of this glass pot with handle. Just for kicks I looked on ebay and found my Braun for $99 in black (mine is white) Having looked st every coffee maker that does the same thing as my old Braun (all enormous and complicated/ugly things). I realized that there is no new 10cup coffee maker as small and easy to use. It has made great coffee for decades, and if I break another carafe, I'll probably cry if I can't buy another. Maybe by then someone will come up with the great idea of a small 10 cup coffee maker which is simple and easy to use

Perfect
I simply googled the make/model of our coffee maker and this Amazon link popped up. We broke our carafe several years ago and switched to a cheaper spare coffee maker instead of buying a new carafe. I really missed the alarm clock function on the Braun so I bought this and am glad I did! I don't really remember the original carafe, but I thought this one had a nicer handle. For all I know it's an exact replica of the original. Either way, I really like the feeling of the carafe, it's high quality, and works perfectly with the maker (as I would have expected).

Fits Perfectly
Back before coffee pods were a thing I lived in Louisville in a small apartment so I wanted a smaller coffee pot but one that would keep the coffee hot. I found this perfect Braun coffee pot that heats the coffee that uses 1100 W much more than the standard 900 W for larger pots. The Wattage is what makes the coffee hot. I bought this coffee maker in 2002 and it is still going strong but I broke the carafe about 4 months ago. It is very hard to find a 10 cup carafe, they all seem to be at 12 cups. Plus, this Braun needs the right shape to fit the machine. Wallah, so happy I found this replacement carafe that is made for this exact coffee maker. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.

Beware of photo and attempting to email; call instead
Happy to have a replacement carafe for this Braun coffee pot; however, production no longer makes a matching carafe for the white model. The photo pictured here is of the ORIGINAL carafe that came with the coffee pot, NOT the one that is currently being produced and shipped. The current handle (as another user below writes) is nearly black (a very dark charcoal grey), which does not match the very light grey on the rest of the coffee pot (filter basket & control pad). Using the Amazon email feature only got me the same response, twice (even though I sent clear photos of the original pot w/ original carafe from another website, and photos of what actually arrived); it is as if I was emailing a robot who could only say: you got what we stock. I don't doubt that, but I wanted to draw this person's attention (Alex Hanson is the name on the responses) to the fact that what is pictured here is NOT what is being sent. When I found the phone number and called, I spoke to a nice person named Andrew who took the time to look at the .pdf attachment I sent and listen to my explanation, which is that this is an old coffee machine, and the old carafe (that matches the machine) is pictured here on Amazon, but the new one no longer looks the same. I am not accusing them of sending a fake product at all; I believe it is a Braun and someone is making it for Braun, but whoever is making it now did not take the time to match it to the original machine. While Andrew would not cover my shipping to send it back and said he can't control what Amazon posts because it is the same photo used in other listings, he did offer to refund a portion of the purchase price, which is certainly more acceptable than the robot-like responses I received from "Alex Hanson" via the Amazon "contact the seller" links. If you have your coffee pot out on the counter like I do and care about aesthetics, the color may bother you. I haven't decided yet if this will now be demoted and become a "back up" coffee pot since it does not blend in with the rest of the appliance. If you want to see what the carafe actually looks like before ordering, look at this listing (for a European version of the coffee pot): http://www.amazon.com/Braun-Cafehouse-KF520-Coffee-Machine/dp/B001ON6ONE/ref=pd_sbs_k_6

Good Carafe, Great Price
Bought this to replace old carafe which I had dropped. My coffee maker is black. Lid and handle of this carafe is white. But it was Hal's the price of the black handled carafe. Since the coffee maker is in a pantry location where it cannot be seen from dining room or the kitchen, the color difference doesn't matter. And, since I saved the handle from the old carafe and since it fits the new carafe, the only contrast is the handle so even if it could be seen, it would not be particularly glaring.

Perfect replacement
I accidentally broke the carafe on my Braun Coffee maker. I was happy to see the replacement is still readily available. Braun no longer manufactures coffee makers for use in the U.S. but replacement parts are easy to find. The handle of the replacement is much darker than original. I do like the texture on the lid of the carafe. There is a matte finish on most of the lid, as opposed to the polished plastic on the original. The carafe works just like the original. I have no complaints about this product and I highly recommend it.

Heavy duty
It's heavy glass and is very durable, the shipper was outstanding and got it to me from New York in a quicker time than stated.
