After you set the DMX mode and address, all good. Power cycle the unit, and it comes up in DMX mode, but the green data RX light is dark and it doesn't work. Tested with two different boards. If you go to the unit change modes manually, the data will work again. For something like a holiday display or architectural installation this is a non starter. Not recommended. update: Seller was very responsive. I returned and purchased The 30 channel unit with dip switches and it's been working perfectly. RGB/RGBW doesn't matter in my application; I'm using each channel on an individual led puck for a holiday display. Both unit's metal cases are well made.

Works as expected to control (4) 3-channel LEDs. I used it to control LED strips that usually come with an IR remote. You’ll need some 4-wire LED strip light connectors (RGB+voltage). I’ve used these for several shows, and I’ve learned that at least for my use I only need to bring one 2-wire voltage source (I use 24v LEDs) to the decoder, even though there are 2 positive and 2 negative terminals provided next to the channel connections. There are two additional grounds on the side with the dmx in/outs which are also optional. You set the starting dmx channel with the dip switches. The DMX in/out is an Ethernet port, which I found unusual, but it comes with a 3-pin dmx adapter. If you are using 3-pin like me you need another adapter for the out if you need to pass the signal through. For my last production I used wireless dmx receivers on each decoder so I didn’t need pass through.

It does do mostly what it says it will do. However, the documentation is scanty enough that anyone less than familiar with LED striplight installations will run into snags. The connection diagram provided with the unit is printed so small that many designations on the diagram can't be read. Some pointers: This unit switches on the low side of the LEDs. The provided diagram does not show the +12 (or +24) Vdc connection on the LED strips. The +12Vdc connection point on the unit apparently intended for this connection is confusingly labeled "common". Yes in a technical sense it may be 'common' to all of the LED strips regardless of control channel, but DO NOT connect this point to 12Vdc negative (which is also known as 'common', 'ground', 'return', or even 'neutral' depending on one's prior electrical/electronics background). That terminal should really be called '+Vdc to LEDs' and left at that. Most LED tapes label the 'hot' side of the LEDs as +12Vdc or +24VDC. This unit really should follow suite. Also, the internal 'dimming' color cycle preset ('H09') does not do a very good job of dimming the LEDs during the color transitions. Color cycling and dimming is much better handled by an external DMX controller.

Worked really well for my needs to control some LED strip lights. No control issues and very reliable. A bit wonky connector required to hook up to standard XLR-type DMX cabling, but as long as I didn't need to daisy chain it to anything else that was fine. It would have been nice to have some sort of plug connections to the lights for portability, but for what it was, it worked quite well for me.

I ordered 3 of these to light up 24 strands of commercial grade COB led light strips for our church auditorium. Powered with ALITOVE 24V 3A 72W AC to DC Adapter Power Supply Converter. It all worked great for 2 months. Then one of the units failed and the lights started flickering intermittently and eventually stopped working. I ordered a new one to replace it and that unit arrived broken. I was frustrated, but returned the unit for replacement and they immediately replaced it. The new unit seems to be working perfectly.

Worked fine for almost a year and then DMX failed. Contacted support and they sent out a new one quickly.

Some outputs have channels that are on constantly, it prevents me from matching colors across all outputs. Some channels randomly have red all the time and some randomly have blue or green. Not a good experience at all!!
