Q: Can this be used like regular tea leaves to make tea?

In his book Herbal Antivirals, Stephen Buhner says that isatis leaves can be used to make tea and that the Chinese do so for antiviral purposes. But he also says that, in his opinion, it has a terrible flavor. I make tincture out of these leaves per his directions, and the taste is very bitter. I don't think I would enjoy it as a tea.
