Powerful and totally captivating novel with futuristic messages.
The HUMAN ACTS is incredibly frank and point-blank, with far-reaching significance for humans in society. It is one of the best novels of the 20th century, written in the shadow of the South Korean dictatorship. Read it to enjoy its powerful message.Prof. Varghese V DevasiaKozhikode, Kerala, India.

Hard-hitting. Poetic. Masterpiece.
There is no other words than Masterpiece for this book. Han Kang is now my absolute favourite author and I can't help but wait excitingly for her next book. This book is a sharp take on one of the most bloody event in the the political history of South Korea. The time when the country was under Military Rule. A must read for everyone. It makes you feel things as humans. It makes you human again.

Love this book!!
this was such an emotional read which got me confused a little in between but grew on my mind and swallowed it ever so slowly, making it numb to every other thing. The best read of 2023

impossibly slow and difficult to follow
I bought this book, as the author has received a Nobel prize ( for another book).Well it was a mistake to buy this book. I could not proceed beyond the first 10% of the book. The prose is heavy and the story seemed to going nowhere so I simply gave up.I assume the book in its original language may have been good, but somehow in translation to English lost the plot. Or perhaps it’s the Korean cultural context and manner of prose that perhaps that I as an English speaker failed to appreciate in the translated version. In any case I would suggest you give this book a skip. Best of luck.
