When I bought this, the wife thought I was going to be cooking up something nice. I need not tell you the amount of disappointment that was felt... I bought mine specifically for brake fluid extraction. Works fine. I'm sure it helps to make a terrific Turkey, too.

Mine is a dark purple. The main photo is not representative of the bulb color, but the colors of the bulb in the photos of the baster in action are fairly accurate.

For basting (spreading liquid) on meat and other food, while cooking or when done. Also for transferring liquid from one container to another. And if kept apart from food utensils can be a tool to drain up a spilled liquid…food based or not.
