Magnesium Stearate reduces absorption.  Disappointed to see such additives here.  Does anyone know of a good curcumin supplement without additives?

Its not a matter of reduced absorbtion, but rather, delayed absorbtion. And in this case with curcumins, there is no harm with this. Most of our absorbtion is later on in the gut. So this isn't critical in regard to timing, as the small intestine is very long and this supplement will be absorbed before entering the Colon. As far as safety, the latest info from the FDA (2017), a person who is 150 lbs, has an upper limit of 170,000 mgs per day of magnesium stearate. This is a huge amount. Where the issue comes in, is mostly between 2 specific companies who are in competition. One says that magnesium sterate is not good, and the other says its fine. To me tho, adding magnesium ions to a fatty lipid and stearic acid is fine. This chemical is used for allowing better consistancy of the supplement, and to prevent sticking. Magnesium is natural enough, the lipids coming from either plants or animals is common everyday. Even coconut is 87% saturated fat and people act like its the best thing for our diet. As far as stearic acid, its safe as can be, no harm done. It's up to you which company you want to agree with, but the media is powerful and after researching this I'm satisfied in the process used, including magnesium stearate. Without additives in general to something like this, this would be just generic curcumin root that goes into our system and out within a couple of hours is all. Is this product organic?  Has it been tested for solvents (that some curcumin has)?   Is there a way to directly contact the manufacturer directly?

This is a product made with Longvida curcumin. It's non-GMO but I don't know that the turmeric is or isn't organic certified. Chlorinated solvents aren't used in making it (water and carbon dioxide are also solvents in many herbal manufacturing processes). Yes, the manufacturer can be contacted through the Longvida site of the same name. I have had really good results using it myself. I don't sell it but I certainly do buy it.

It means that the product can enter the brain. The body has a natural barrier that does not permit that for most products.

What color should the capsules be? The ones I received are very pale.

The expected color is a light golden-orange to light yellowish-brown. Note that this is not pure curcumin; there is a carrier that is responsible for its enhanced absorption and specific properties/claims.
