Loved Wings...back in day..want to see it anytime I want

Exactly what I was expecting when I ordered it. I had read comments that said the video quality was poor. Look, it's not Blu-ray but it is not represented as such. It wasn't filmed that way nor "remastered". I can tell you that the quality seems to be just the same as the episodes I have on my Spectrum DVR. If I hadn't read about some concerns in reviews before I purchased it, I would not have noticed quality of video at all. It is just fine! Plus, for the price? Come on.........this is an excellent value for a terrific series that is actually fun to watch. No social issues, no agendas, just characters that do not take themselves too seriously. The actors interact well and seem to be enjoying themselves while doing straight, flat-out original comedy. Loving it!

Just received the videos today. Playing one video now and quality of picture is very good. It was a new set. Never opened. And packaged securely.

I recently underwent surgery and decided to watch the complete Wings series while I was recuperating. My wife and I both enjoyed the series while it was on televison and seldom see re-runs on any of the cable channels. I was able to watch up through Season Three before my twelve year-old daughter decided to commandeer the DVD collection and watch them on her portable player. Sometimes humor is timeless and it's great to know she enjoys the series as much as my wife and I did. In addition, it's great to know that she's watching something that's really funy and not inappropriate like so many of the current television sitcoms. I enjoy watching Two And One-Half Men; however, the humor has become so sexually explicit and just downright rank that we've stopped watching the new season. There are so many hilarious cast members (Lowell, Antonio, Faye, Roy & Brian) and so many great memorable lines that it's really hard to pick one out although one memorable line from Lowell (who else) does come to mind. All of the cast decides their love life is in the toilet and decide to enlist the help of a dating service. As part of the dating process, they are each interviewed separately and asked several loaded questions. Lowell is asked, "when is it okay to lie?" and his response is "when you can't remember the truth!" Given the context of the question and the honest deadpan look on his face when he responds, it's hysterical and one I have worked into daily conversations to make people laugh. It always works! If you're looking for something funny to watch, with or without your kids, this just might be the ticket and you don't need surgery as a reason to purchase the DVD. collection.

The dvd's are ok but not great but I love the show. The packing is very simple, The box has carboard sleaves with 2 dvd's each. Most seasons are split between two dvds. It looks like the disks were authored in 2014. The quality is only a little better then what airs on rewind tv. The Good The video resolution is 720x480 and has a display aspect ratio of 4x3 and is 29.97 fps. The disks don't have any pre roll junk before you get to the menu! Each episode has chapters where the ad breaks were. The audio is AC3 Stereo at 192kbps and sounds very clear. The Bad The deinterlacing that was applied to the source was low quality so we are stuck with a poorly deinterlaced progressive video. There are no closed captions at all. The menu does not display episode numbers but it does list the episodes in order.

Don't listen to the reviews concerning the picture quality. It's a TV show from the 90s, it's not going to be high definition in the first place. I found the picture quality comparable to all 90s sitcoms on DVD that haven't been cleaned up. This was a great deal so I'm not too worried about the packaging itself. If you're wanting better cases, I would suggest buying the seasons individually. It's ironic, I grew up in the 90s but never watched Wings, Cheers, and Frasier at the time, but now these shows are me and my wife's favorite sitcoms. All 3 shows take place in the same world and there's character crossover. The reason I even gave this show a chance is because of its connection to Frasier and Cheers. It took several episodes to get into it, but once I started watching, I couldn't stop. And they introduce new reoccurring characters later in the series that are hilarious. This is the type of show that can be watched over and over again, yet not get tedious. I highly recommend especially if you're a fan of Cheers and/or Frasier.

Great tv series at a great price. I do wish the video quality was better. However I watched it on a streaming service and the quality was just as bad. Which makes me think that's just how wings is. It is watchable but definitely not the best video quality. I'm keeping it as I can still enjoy the show despite this flaw.

Relatively cheap but effective packaging. A great series from when sitcoms were funny and not over the top crass rubbish. Relaxing viewing for the family.

This is a very funny show with a full 8 seasons and in this age of upset 2020's we need all the laughter we can get. They were all so very funny. I enjoyed Rebecca Schull, who was the white haired lady who announced the flights coming and going. She is 90 years old now and she did an amazing job. If you like to laugh you should watch this one. very talented people and very funny people. Good job.

At time of purchase I thought it would be suitable for Australia and New Zealand players (Region 4) but when DVDs arrived it was Region 1. Had to go out and buy a multi region player. Very disappointed REGION was not stated at point of sale.

It's Wings. It's the complete series. It's on DvD. Everything you wanted. No surprises. Five stars. Good job.
