Exactly what I wanted well worth it

Great quality, brilliant bit of kit

This handmade axe is very well crafted. Very small, ot really suited for wood chopping (ok for splitting kindling wood). I bought it mainly to use for chopping out when carving, spoon making, small wood crafts. A lot of money for such a small thing, but being handmade I appreciate the quality and skill involved. I expect it to serve me well for many years, if not to outlive me!!

A decent tool at a reasonable price but let down a bit by damaged packaging. Mine looked like it was a customer return as the box was heavily marked and the tabs for keeping the box closed were all ripped open. Not a big problem as the hatchet was for me. If I was buying as a gift for someone then I would have returned it.

A really good looking axe that is nice and compact for easy carriage. the handle is shaped well with a great finish, the attachment of the head seems appropriate and after using it is still solid. the axe came actually shaving sharp with a beautiful mirror polished edge. the head is uniform and is appropriately weighted for the length of handle. All round brilliant piece that's worth the cost.

Packaging: 5* Edge finish: 1* Handle finish: 3-4* Hultafors is a premium price tool maker, like Gransfors. My two Gransfors products arrived ready for use but this hatchet arrived blunt and the handle needs a little sanding. So not ‘excellent' value for money like my Gransfors axes were. I’m undecided whether to keep or return it and search for the gransfors equivalent.

ハチェットをコレかハスクか森かで悩みましたが、悩んだ時は一番高いものをと言う先人の教えに倣い意を決して入手しましたが、正解だったようです。 何処をとっても作りの良さしか感じません。 鏡面のような刃付けや、亜麻仁油で良く煮込まれて色付いたヒッコリーの柄、固く分厚いバッファローレザーのシース。 先任のハスクの手斧より200グラムほどヘッドが軽く、長さも3分の2程なので取り回しはかなり軽く感じます。 刃付けが鋭いのもあって、広葉樹でも直径15センチ程度のコナラの薪ならスパッと行けました。 まぁそれでも節があったり、樫とかは難しいでしょうねぇ… シースはリベット止めですが、ちゃんと刃のカバー的に間に中子の革が一枚入っているので、結構安心できる作りだと思います。 ハスクと違い、ヘッド全体を覆ってくれるシースなので良いですね。固定用の革紐はかなり固く、ねじれていたりしますので、ミンクオイル等を使いながら気長に柔らかくしていくか、他の素材に置き換えるのもアリかと思います。 今、なるべく機能性を落とさずに手持ちのアイテムをコンパクトにしようとしている最中ですが、良いモノを見つけられました。
