GUIDANCE & REVIEW - Excellent Device
I purchased this primarily for the Panasonic TV in my room because it didn't have Bluetooth. However my Samsung livingroom TV does and my Samsung TV Bluetooth isn't needed to pair this when connecting to the purchased device. However if asked always allow a connected device and check your system device manager to ensure nothing is blocked. Before you buy check to see if your TV has the optical connectivity or phono jack. For my Panasonic the optical input is in the back and my for my Samsung is in the external adaptor which is connected to the TV.When I first tried to set this up I was experiencing difficulty. However I do note how frustrated people can be when they are not patient and want their new toy to work immediately. With all these things you need to give time and work through guidance. I will try and explain how this is setup so you don't go through a long winded process and struggle with frustration.Instructions from streaming from TV to wireless Headphones.1. First make sure you charge up the bluetooth device and headphones.2. Once charged attached the optical wire into your TV / or external adaptor and attach to the bluetooth device.3. IMPORTANT - My Samsung TV has been set to PCM mode in sound settings and likewise for the Panasonic. It WILL not work unless you do this.4. Ensure you use the optical lead that comes with the device and not one supplied I.e by Samsung. I did this and it failed.5. Now looking at the bluetooth transmitter. If you are looking to stream from your smart TV to the earphone device then ensure TX mode is selected, switch located next to on / off button. If you are streaming music then RX mode needs to be selected. (See my pictures)6. Ensure optical cable is plugged in TX slot if using this type of connectivity. Make sure it is NOT put in RX slot, it won't work.7. Now first turn on the wireless headphones (Make sure they are charged) and in my case mine says pairing. Then turn on the Bluetooth device and double click the pairing button.(Ensure the headphones are next to the unit when pairing) My headphones will show a constant blue light as paired and in my case my headphones confirmed pairing. You can see this button for pairing in my pictures. (Two arrows facing in different directions.)8. Then turn on the second pair of headphones, once they are searching then DOUBLE CLICK the pairing button on the Bluetooth device. These will now pair but make sure the headphones are near the device. If there are connectivity issues or you find it not connecting, no problem press and hold the pairing button to reset it. I had to do this a few times. It takes a number of seconds but to know it is reset you will see the lights flash on and off to confirm. The interesting thing now is this, today I paired two pairs of headphones using the Bluetooth device on my Samsung Bluetooth enabled TV. Both headphones were connected to the purchased Bluetooth device using the optical cable into the external adaptor which connects to the Samsung TV initially. One of the pairs of headphones was already connected to this TVs own Bluetooth from before so I turned this pair off and turned it on again. This pair then connected to the TV via the TVs own Bluetooth (the TV showed a connection) and the other via the purchased Bluetooth device remained. This didn't work that way before and if I tried to separate the two example pairing first to the TV and the to the purchased device it wouldn't work. Always pair with the purchased device first before trying this. There is a strong chance that because of this I may be able to attach a 3rd pair of headphones to the TV. I am yet to trial this experiment. The sound connectivity is on the dime, it works so well. The sound tranmits perfectly and you will have no regrets. Remember, reset the Bluetooth device with the guidance above if its not working and be patient, its a brilliant piece of kit. I have never left such a long review for anything before and to the developer, thank you.

Use two headphones on a smart TV!
I recently upgraded my trusty non-smart TV which used wireless headphones so my wife and I could listen to good volume late at night. Very quickly found that unless I wanted to stay in the dark ages, most new TVs don't come with headphone sockets anymore! I looked at buetooth connection a few years back and the lip sync was terrible. But I am very happy to say this product gives virtually no lip-sync issues even when using 2 sets of bluetooth headphones. The headphones will probably need to support AptX which ours do, but if you get compatible ones, you will not be disappointed. It plugs in to the Optical output and can be powered by the TVs own USB so no wires to worry about. Of course, if you need your USB ports on the TV then a standard usb charger should be fine too. I am still getting my head around the connection, when we turn our headphones on< I seem to still have to press a button on the transmitter to make it connect my second set of headphones, but it only takes a second and it's early days so that may improve too.I can't give a better review than to say I am planning on buying a second one for my other TV very soon.Amendment: Once it learned the two headphones it settled down. It's been running flawlessly for months now. We leave it on and plugged in, actually blue tacked to the wall. As soon as we turn on the head phones, a few seconds and we are on. Love this product!

difficult to connect and patchy sound
I really wanted to like this as it is very much needed for my bluetooth headphones and watching movies late at night. firstly it is difficult to connect to bluetooth headphones even though I stand over it to connect. I have to turn it off and on and press pair button multiple times before success. which is annoying. The lag is terrible with my ear buds so unusable but acceptable with my more expensive Sony Headphones. There is a patchy sound which is noticeable on more quieter periods of a TV broadcast - which is really annoying. I haven't noticed this on the louder passages.I would have returned the item but it was too difficult with Covid19 and self isolation

Genuinely surprised
I bought this more in hope than expectation. Was about to spend hundreds on a new streaming system, but then discovered Bluetooth receivers as a way to upgrade my Marantz M-CR603, which I love. Was a bit suspicious considering the price but went for it based on all the positive reviews. Bought it on Saturday, it arrived on Sunday. Amazing. Plugged the Sonru in and it just worked. Pairing is a doddle. Sound quality is excellent. Just as good as Airplay, which I was previously using, but the connection was rubbish for various reasons. Everything is beautifully crisp and clear. The treble sparkles, the bass is tight and melodic. Couldn’t believe it to be honest. Have ordered a Syncwire optical cable separately as I thought I’d need it to optimise sound quality, but I don’t think I will. Only downside is slightly cheap build and small, plasticky buttons, but what do you expect for £30. And don’t expect Apple products to make use of the aptX HD capabilities, because they can’t. Only aptX (MacBooks) and AAC (iPhones). Nevertheless, an easy 5 stars.

Easy, practical and it looks great
***Update 2: within a few hours of me posting an update about issues I was having with this device Sonru have been in touch and replaced the faulty item immediately. The new one is working great so I have reset my review to its original 5 stars.***Update: after about a month this has started disconnecting my headphones every 30 secs or so...it was a great bit of kit but now is unusable for the purpose I bought it.Great little bit of kit, makes watching TV and gaming much easier while the baby's napping! I'm using through the optical port and with one connection I can use my Bluetooth headphones with all external inputs including games and Roku box. Quick and easy connection with the 'memory' function working well to ensure auto pairing when I turn the box on. Not had it long but the battery lasted a couple of weeks for me with not very heavy use...maybe 15-20 hours.
