Can this be flipped on its side for a to view file folders long way?

Don’t buy it. It was cheap and wouldn’t stay together. I returned it.

Do you think this will work for chrome books in a classroom? Is it sturdy enough? Wide enough?

It's wide enough but I don't think it would be quite sturdy enough to hold chrome books.

If you were to substitute chicago screws for the plastic fasteners, does anybody know what size you would need? Would you need 24 of them?

Plastic fasteners would be too wide plus look horrible. Try the Godzilla glue. It worked very well
