BENFEI SATA to USB 3.0 Cable, USB 3.0 to SATA III Hard Drive Adapter Compatible for 2.5 3.5 Inch HDD/SSD Hard Drive Disk with 12V/2A Power Adapter, Support UASP

This adapter worked as expected. I needed a simple way to connect a SATA drive through USB, and it did the job without any issues. Products like this are hard to get excited about, but that is also kind of the point. When you need an adapter, you want it to work reliably and not create extra troubleshooting. In my case, setup was straightforward and it performed the way I hoped it would. If you need a basic SATA-to-USB solution and want something that is easy to use, this has been a good purchase for me.

Good quality hardware, ac adapter is high quality. Good thick cables and connectors. Works great for hooking my WD Blue HDD 3.5HDD, and desktop dvd writer to my laptop.

For the price I was not expecting much. But this thing proved itself. Works perfect. Its just a cable. You plug the drive into it and the USB end into the computer and your computer will mount the drive assuming it isn't broken.

bought the benfei usb to sata adapter. works great except usb-c connection doesnt work. usb-a does. I have a benfei usb to sata container for 2.5" drives and it uses the same cable it appears, but both the usb-a and usb-c work.

Made my 500gb SDD drive into an external USB 3.0. Worked perfectly for DriveQenius connection to upgrade my disk to bigger SDD; OS intact. Made the external into a Win10 boot disk. Came with a quality 3amp C/A USB power supply and a quality C cable.

Note: I am reviewing the version that includes the power adapter. This is the version that works with the widest variety of drives. I use these at home and at work when I need to access a SATA hard drive quickly for troubleshooting, repair, or just to access data on the drive. If you use this on a newer computer with USB 3 or Thunderbolt, it accesses the drive data very quickly. I like this version of the hard drive adapter because it is fast and works with all the SATA drives I've tried it with. (Some adapters only work with the 2.5" drives.) To me, this is easier to use than the toaster style drive adapters. I've used it to read/write data, format/partition drives, clone drives, and boot from drives and it's handle all of those functions well. Only thing I'm unsure about is if there is a limit for the drive size that you can access with this adapter. I don't think there is, but I can't remember if I've tried it with anything larger than 2TB.

Needed to wipe an old HD from bootable Windows XP, to a blank drive for a Linux system I'm putting together from two older systems, and clone my wife's bootable Windows 7 HDD in her laptop (because the hard drive is failing) so I can replace it with a new drive with the Windows 7 operating system and data ported over to it. Having both of these situations pop up at the same time, when I looked for options for both problems, I found this little item at Amazon. For the bucks it seemed like a good idea. Just started formatting the old 80 GB drive from the donor PC, and it's working great. One thing I didn't see mentioned in description or other reviews, is that it has a small blue LED on the top of the plug-in to show data transfer or that it's working. You have to look at it from above, as it's too small to see it otherwise, but it's a nice feature. If you work on your own PC's, or would like to be able to use an old internal SATA drive as an external hard drive for back up, or (if large enough...) as a really big thumb drive. You can get fairly large 2.5" laptop hard drives that fit the palm of your hand, heck, you can even get enclosures for them, and that is a way to get a huge portable external hard drive for your laptop bag. Once I've got these two jobs done, that's what I plan next. Get a low cost 1TB drive for my laptop bag, since my work laptop only has 250 GB SSD, and it's filling up fast. For the buck you can't really afford not to get one.

- The manual says you need to have a partition on it already. I took a brand new 4tb WD Blue drive out of the sealed box and plugged it in and had no trouble - I opened Windows Disk Management and it already was aware of it. Picked a letter and GPT and formatted away. - I was able to very quickly copy ~ 1.5gb of large files in no time using the usb-a adapter. Much quicker than a flash drive, much quicker than over the network. (basic windows file transfer was reporting ~150 mb/s, fwiw) - the little usb-c to usb-a integrated adapter is pretty neat. Feels quite solid. - same minor complaint as others - usb cable is too short! even like another 3 inches would be good, 6 would be great. Not enough to knock off a star, but close. I just put the drive on top of its own box and it raised it enough to reach the lowest usb3 ports in the back

il est fourni avec une prise type UK seulement alors que j'ai besoin d'un fiche EU. rien ne l'indique sur le site ni photos ni caractéristique.

One thing I should have guessed was that the AC adapter had a UK plug. I live in Sweden and consequently got a problem. This should have been informed about in the description. If this is omitted, the seller might have adapted the delivery to the country the package was sent to EU -> EU, UK -> UK etc. Had a suitable mains adapter lying around so it worked out great. Overall good quality and works great for my XBOX.
