Up in price, down in quality
Thus is the 3rd pair of these I have purchased. The first 2 pairs were of good quality. Draper have unfortunately followed the trend of increasing the price but reducing the quality of the product. The blades are not as sharp, the handles are shoddily made and the catch that holds the handles shut is comical. Will get some proper ones and bin these.

Covered in rust... after just a month!
These look lovely, but.... they went rusty within less than a month of purchase. They spent that time between our greenhouse and shed and were never left outside. Very poor quality!

Draper 85188 210 mm Heritage Range Bypass Secateurs with FSC Ash Handles - Silver
This seems like a quality item. Heavier than average, since it is made of solid stainless steel, and built to last. I like the look of the ash wood handle inlay, which complements the whole. The blade is nice and long and cuts through 15mm thick branches with ease - obviously dependent on how dense the wood is. A lot off secateurs have a cheap-looking spring which can detach, but the spring on this is made of thick metal and is held in place by substantial steel lugs, which each have a small hook around which the end of the spring is secured. Can't see this falling off! Good value for money.

Poor handles, filler!!
It's really sad. I'd wanted these for ages, but when they arrived, the handles were very poor. Covered in filler, poorly applied and poor fitting. The actual action felt very smooth. But I couldn't get over the poor wood work, and sloppy catch.I returned them.

Feels solid just a little disappointed with the finish
Was really looking forward to these but was a little disappointed with the overall finish of the product and after one day of use a problem. The ash handles wasn't as polished off as it looked on the site, rough and ready I suppose.. after one day of use they stuck shut after every cut, if you untighten the little nut slightly they work again. Will see how they perform this spring

Sharp
Bought so my wife would stop using inappropriate kitchen scissors to cut flower stems. They look great and do the job well. Only disappointment is that the blades have stained somewhat.

Very good quality but...
This is a beautifully crafted solid and heavy item. A real joy to hold and use. I only have one negative comment, the wood which is quality Ash doesn't fit as well as it could, if I was assembling this item I would fill any gaps between the good and the metal with a resin or something, this is the difference between high craftsmanship and low grade alternatives. Draper is a quality name and I expect higher standards. That said, I look forward to many years of happy pruning!!

They stick
Just what I wanted, light handy size, but I used them half a dozen times now they stick closed when snipping a plant, so I constantly have to push them open with is really Annoying. I’ve oiled them but to no avail!
