Tough like powder coat finish
Expensive but worth it used on a 12โ open trailer and did some wire wheeling light sanding and prep work to the frame after taking old wood bed off and this rust bullet black shell did the trick applys easily with a 2โ brush 2coats did cover quite a bit of area when dry looks like a powder coat finish did the project outside to have good airflow would recommend this for a dyi fix to any old steel frames

Did the job!
We purchased a previously owned home and the metal door needed updating and we didnโt want to replace so after several attempts at repainting this was the only paint that worked to prevent rust bleed through. It is expensive but better than buying a new door. I just wish I could have found it in red๐

Good results but difficult to work with (Updated)
Initial review (update at the end): This is my first time using Rust Bullet and I am pleased with the results so it won't be my last... BUT... It's difficult to work with. It is extremely tacky and begins skinning almost immediately. At first I thought they might have sent me an expired quart because as soon as I opened it, it began to expand into a thick foamy mess that started to spill out the top of the can, but I quickly went ahead and poured some out, mixed in a bit of solvent, loaded it up and went to spraying. The results... Really really good. I sanded using the suggested 80 grit and did 6 coats, the adhesion and hardness is amazing. The color options (white/black) do mostly limit it as an industrial paint as even though you can add a different top-coat the Rustbullet makes for a super solid top-coat. UPDATE (08-25-24) I've been repainting a bunch of jobsite boxes using this stuff so I thought I might expand on my review. Even though the results were good for the initial quart I ordered, I do think that first quart was past its expiration date as the paint I've ordered since has been of typical viscosity, hasn't foamed-up/skinned and has been easy to work with. A hardner is probably rarely warranted with this paint as after 24 hours it seems around 70% cured and by 48 hours it is 90% cured and is rock-solid. But with that said this product does not store wiell and should be used immediately after opening; I've been using the pint-sized to spray the jobsite boxes (spraying 5:3) and doing ~5 coats on ~25 sq feet before it's been depleted.

you should put the container into another container when your done.
the paint works great like is stated , but the container is not so easy to close for later use.

Durable, sticks to just about anything, rust protection.
This coating is the toughest rust-proofing and metal protection I have used. Wear gloves when applying it because it is hard to remove. I have a project car from the 70s, and any bare metal rusts fast. I keep a tin of this on hand to cover weak spots, and so far it has held up well. The finish is durable, almost like epoxy. It is a bit expensive, but it is worth it since you do not need to keep reapplying. It is basically a one-and-done coating, which makes it a solid value.

WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME!
WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME! I actually was excited to try this product, but this turned into a total nightmare, (see pictures) I could not get the lid off! This 1/4 pint sized can would go straight in to the trash if I hadnโt decided to send it directly back to the manufacturer! Let them open it!!! The label literally says โopen with caution, contents may be under pressure,โ what does that mean??? that hardly matters when the thing wonโt open at all. The rim is deeper than a normal can, which makes it almost impossible to get any leverage. And the rim bent everywhere so it makes it even more impossible to pry open. I kept trying, and instead of opening, the lid just started bending and warping. I spent 30 minutes fighting with this thing using anything I could find. At this point, the lid is mangled, I still canโt open it, and Iโm not about to force it and risk the paint exploding everywhere. Come on guys!!!! Worst design Iโve ever seen. Ridiculous!!!! ZERO STARS!!!!

Very thick needs to be sealed tightly after use
Covers nicely, leave a durable coat after 3 coats

Excellent Product but Be Wary
I tried ordering this product from Amazon twice and both times the product arrived dried up / hard - not as paint. I reached out directly to the manufacturer (in Nevada). The product they shipped me was in perfect condition and worked great! I used this on a rusted bathroom ceiling fan housing - not the fan itself but what you see when looking up at the fan. I found the product easy to apply (it was a bit thinner than a latex paint, but was not runny) and the odor was no where near as bad as some people described - no worse than an oil stain. I applied 3 thin coats and will wait 24 hours and will then apply a white semi gloss latex paint that matches the trim in the bathroom. I suspect you will be unable to reuse any leftover paint - to get the lid off I mangled it and if you donโt get an airtight seal, it will harden up. Itโs easy to see how this product suffocates rust - it essentially dries more as a rubber coating than as typical paint. It is smooth and does look like paint, so top coating as I am doing is not necessary.

Left a nice hard finish on my winter rims
Easily covered 8 rims with some product left over. A few thin coats built up a nice hard finish with a good gloss. The product does have a bit of an oder so definitely work in a well ventilated area. Hopefully the finish will stand up better than products I have used in the past...time will tell.

Arrived on time
Great product, putting on a thin layer as instructed. Small can goes a long way, and dries hard.
