These are worth purchasing! No downside. No negatives. Work better than I expected. They’ve worth beautifully with regularly water bottles. Zero leaking of water while repositioning these in my plant containers after refilling the water bottles. Very little mess. They work. They’re easy to insert into soul. Doesn’t become a project to put these into use when I’m preparing to be away for a few days or a week. Quick and easy to put into operation!

I was very skeptical at first but these really do work IF you pierce the bottle with a TINY TINY TINY hole. I have a very large plant and needed it to be adequately watered for a week while I was on vacation. At first, I made the hole in my bottle big enough for a straw and all the water very quickly emptied out within an hour. On my next attempt, I first watered my plant thoroughly and then placed the blumat bottle adapter into the plant using a large two liter soda bottle but this time I pierced the bottom of the bottle in three different spots using the tip of a safety pin!At first no water was draining into the plant but I realized that was because I had watered the plant first, so this adapter really does adjust the water flow based on the hydration need of the soil. The two liter bottle lasted for a week and my plant was very healthy and in great shape when I returned from vacation. The secret is to put just a TINY hole or two or three, depending on the size of your bottle. I use these in my plant all the time now so I don't need to worry about watering. I highly recommend this product!

These are interesting........they do work well. I have used the 16oz water bottles and the 2liter soda bottles, all filled completely. They stay up in the planter without falling over (surprisingly the large bottles too) I would not put a hole in the bottom of the bottle tho. The water is gone in just a few days. I did soak the planter first. The water bottles that I did not put a hole in created a vacuum inside the bottle, so even the 2 liter began sucking in on itself.....HOWEVER, this is what worked best. They still release water just fine. I am going to guess and say a 2 liter will water 1.5 to 2 weeks. I will find out soon as we will need to use them. Fill a two liter, put the adapter on it and stand it up in a large tall plastic cup, don't put a hole in it and see how slowly it releases, that is how I experimented. Over a three day period I saw only approx. 1/2 cup released. The 2 liter bottle I did put a hole in, I covered the hole up with a little piece of duct tape and that plugged the hole.

The media could not be loaded. Good quality product, looks and feels sturdy, combined with my Raindrip irrigation system, works perfectly. Plants are happier, no wasted water, no overwatering. We have over 100 F temperature, this makes vacation possible!!!

These would maybe work for a weekend away but any longer than that and it doesn't work.I wanted these for some outdoor plants in big pots and in two days it had emptied them. This was my pre-trip test to see if I would need a friend to come over and water on a longer trip.I guess the bright spot to this product is if your asking a friend to come over to water your plants at least they wouldn't have to come over quite as much , just to fill the bottle every couple of days.

This watering spike is able to use different size plastic bottles, depending on how long you will be gone for, or how often you care to water your plants. I am hoping to go away for a week & not come back to a dry plant. Seems sturdy. Arrived quickly. Will buy again if I need more.
