Will this be too much to replace a 24v 500w speed controller?

This is a brilliant replacement It did my 24v racing car perfect. I highly recommend this item

Will the 48V controller work with 24V as well, or is there a low voltage lockout?

My 24v version cuts out at 20v so probably no.

Dc voltage current throttle voltage 1.1 3.7v 36v power 500w 20a brake low level off voltage 31.5±1v (is this a good replacement)

It was in my case as the connections were identical however it doesn't mean that it will work for everyone

No. Brushed motor only. Brushless controllers have more wires for the motor ( 3 or more)
