Accurate and Easy-to-Use Anemometer
I recently purchased the BTMETER BT-100 Handheld Anemometer, and I’m very impressed with its performance. This digital wind speed meter is perfect for measuring wind speed, air flow, and CFM, making it a versatile tool for both professionals and hobbyists. The device is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around and use on the go. The digital display is clear and easy to read, even in bright sunlight. I appreciate the straightforward button layout, which makes navigating the different modes simple, even for someone who's not particularly tech-savvy.One of the standout features is its accuracy. I’ve tested it in various conditions, and it consistently provides reliable readings. The built-in backlight is also a great addition for low-light situations. The BT-100 comes with a wrist strap and a protective pouch, which are nice touches that add to the overall convenience and durability of the product.Whether you're monitoring weather conditions for outdoor activities or checking airflow in HVAC systems, this anemometer gets the job done efficiently. Highly recommended for anyone needing a dependable and user-friendly wind speed meter!

Fun to experiment with; results seem reasonable and repeatable
I bought these because I always wanted one but I've been able to do some experiments to validate some things. For example, I can tell the difference in air speed of a 4" versus 6" duct and the air speed between a fiberglass and "allergy" air filter.I have no idea how scientifically precise it is but the results seem reasonable. The blades seem well balanced and respond to light air flow and seemingly minor changes in air speed. The only thing I wished is that the display backlight would stay on longer but really I have no complaints.BT recommended

Very useful, love the backlight
Use it on my sailboat for backup wind readings and detecting airflow inside the cabin on hot days. The lighting is very useful for the nights where it's too dark to read. The display is good, and the battery life is phemonemal. It doesn't like speeds over 30kts of wind. Fits nicely in your hand and the attached lanyard helps a ton in windy precarious spots. Build quality is good, would love for it to be water resistant as measuring wind with rain still leaves something to be desired. In all a great product, and would buy again.

All products should be this easy to use
After installing the batteries (a small screwdriver was included as a thoughtful accessory) it took less time to begin using this device than it took you to read this sentence. Press the "on" button and it begins reading instantly. The buttons are intuitive. Press "max/min" once and you'll get the maximum wind speed. Press it again to get minimum wind speed. Press it again to go back to normal mode. Similarly, "Avg" gives you average speed over time.Really like that this comes with a protective case. The backlight is very bright - even in daylight it makes reading so much easier. It's also a must-have at night (for those like me who may use it in darkness for measuring potential windchill). Backlight turns off automatically after 15 seconds (presumably to save battery life).I tried to see if this has auto-off feature but after leaving it on for several minutes it doesn't turn off. This can be a good thing when measuring min/max/avg wind speed though.Booklet that comes with this device states ±5% accuracy, and it's rated to 65mph (plenty fast wind speed for almost all occasions). These are decent accuracy and speed ratings for this great price range.Because this is a "directional dependent" device, I recommend using a wind sock or similar method of knowing wind direction. Aligning this device with the wind direction gives best results.

Not everything worked as advertised
This review is for the BTMETER BT-100WMThis anemometer seemed to work okay but the altimeter didn't work. I manually calibrated the barometer and the altimeter wouldn't adjust to my altitude. In fact, it showed me at 0 feet even though I'm at over 1000' in elevation. I contacted the manufacturer support and they advised that it should "self calibrate".It didn't.The included batteries died within a couple of hours of use. So I put fresh batteries in it and left it on for two more hours on my desk and the barometer changed with the atmospheric pressure changes but the altimeter didn't change at all. Still showed me at sea level. And there's no way to manually modify your altitude.I did originally buy this for the wind speed measurement but the other features advertised are equally important to me for what I needed to use it for. Also, it's a little too challenging to change the batteries. They provide you with the needed screw driver but those little screws are bound to get dropped or lost. And then once you get them out, it's not easy to remove the battery cover. It's kind of frustrating to be honest. They should have just put a standard push down and slide it off type cover.Overall, the unit is lightweight, compact, and the other features seemed to work okay, I bought it for all of the features advertised, and they didn't all work.Maybe the one I received just had this one flaw and the others are fine.
