Once filled this is a stable parasol stand, obviously it will struggle in windy conditions but then the parasol should not be used in windy conditions!It is stable enough for the parasol to be tilted (if you have the tilt option on your parasol) and not rock unduely.Really easy to fill and easy to empty enough to move to store - note do not leave it full in freezing weather or the ice will expand and crack it.A great product if you need a stable base but one you can move from one location to another without breaking your back!

Seems well made and easy to fill with water.

Arrived on time and easy to to fill it with sand or water, water in my case. Filled weight more than adequate to hold our 2m wide Parasol against high winds.I would have preferred a larger filling/emptying point as it is not so easy to empty the base of water for the winter but other than that, a good product.

I bought this for our whirligig after deciding that our ground is just too rocky (being at the bottom of a mountain and all!) for a ground spike. I’ve just filled it with just over two large watering cans of water and given it a test run, and all seems well and sturdy so far. It hasn’t made the whirligig too high for me to reach (I’m 5ft 4”), so I have high hopes for next wash day! I’m sure it will work well with a parasol, as long as you’re not in high wind. The pole- holder part is quite long and mine arrived with both screws to tighten in the pole, so it feels fairly sturdy on a flat surface.

I previously ordered a Charles Bentley 29kg concrete base from Robert Dyas for £49.99. It arrived broken and I had to carry that heavy thing all the way back to the store to return it. To say I was very annoyed is an understatement. This item has saved me roughly half the cost, arrived 3days after ordering and does the job just as well with no fear of breaking. I filled it with 20mls of water and it is steady as a rock. It can hold a lot more but I didn’t bother because my Parasol sits inside the table. Came very well packaged too. Would highly recommend.

Very sturdy so does the job well and looks good. An annoying design feature though, there is a lip inside around the water hole, which means it’s impossible to drain/empty all of the water completely when you want to store it away in winter.

simple to assemble and fill (water), but centre of gravity of this full weight still not adequate for large umbrella in moderate breeze
