Q: Does this eliminate the smell of perfume around you?

No. We tried it just now in our bathroom with some cheap perfume, followed by the Medi-Aire Unscented spray x 2, and you could still smell the perfume. Biological odors which most people find offensive, usually have sulfur in the molecule, whereas perfumes have ester configurations without sulfur. This might account for the difference. I don't know what reaction the Bard product utilizes to neutralize the biological odors.

Q: Can you use it on mattresses?

Yes. I used it on couches and carpets and mattresses. This works great.
