Q: whats the difference between this model and the cheaper 11748-K model?

Excellent question. The S model has service stops on the hot and cold supply line which allow you to shut off the water coming into the valve. That way you are able to service the valve without turning off water anywhere else in the house.

Q: My diverter does not work. I push it in, but it refuses to stay pushed in. It pops right back out and reverts to the primary outlet. What is wrong?

How's your water pressure? If the water pressure to the shower valve is too weak the diverter won't stay engaged. If the pressure is fine then you might need a new diverter assembly kit.

Q: if I want shower, wand, & tub (3 outlets), can I hook up shower and tub on same line but install tub spout with diverter then use other port for wand?

Hello Eric, I would say possibly. Perhaps you may be able to run to the diverter tub spout out of the bottom port, and use the tub spout diverter to divert to the shower head. Then use the push button diverter on the valve to go to the hand shower. My concern is that using the diverter tub spout will create back pressure on the valve which KOHLER did not account for. You probably want to call KOHLER at 1-800-456-4537 and ask their engineers.

on mine, it fills the tub, if I push the button in, it then comes out of the shower head. Has worked great now for over six years.
