Easy to fit and work fine

Bought this to replace an almost identical unit that I fitted years ago (2008?) as a soffit downlighter, which had worked well on a timeswitch (dusk - 11pm) for many years but had gone dim due to one of the LED chips getting the 'black spot of death.'This item fitted easily into the existing hole (you have to put the clips on yourself but it's not hard to work out) and works fine, coming on straight away with no flicker. Much to my surprise its colour temperature matched the remaining downlighters exactly, ie the old ones hadn't changed at all. Must be the constant current driver module.Although some product engineering has gone on in the intervening years compared to the original, this is still a good quality item which I think will last as long as the original.

On the face of it a cheap led replacement bulb. Made in China did not put me off it stated CE certified. Very flimsy wiring attached to led driver. The wiring although soldered on the ends was so thin it would not be held by a connector block. Without peeling back wiring cover and doubling up wire it would not make a connection. No instructions in box springs take a little time to work out how to get resistance. If I had not binned the box this would go back as not fit for purpose.

I opted for the 150mm ones but they are only 145mm in diameter, so NOT as advertised, and I now have little gaps around parts of the edge that I can't fully cover.There are NO instructions and the spring clips are NOT attached! They're lose in the box. Some reviews mentioned not continuing with them because of that and I'm not surprised having seen them. Eventually I found a photo online from the right angle that indicated how to add the clips, basically put the barrel of the spring in between the 2 holding points with the small opposing loop on the inside of the circumference and with the rectangular part pointing out.It says they are 4000K, either way, the light is very white and at 9w very bright.
