had a problem with the battery discharging overnight for no apparent reason, this cured the problem (temporally while sorting the fault).

A chance it will cause damage in the long run
The item does work in theory and just managed to fit into the battery bay as measured however the output is reduced from 12v to around 9v when engaged.When turning the battery on it would spark and trip the alarm system off frequently and there was not enough power to fire up the engine at times.I ended up with a engine system service warning light from the ECU which I had to get repaired.Overall I wouldn't put this on your car at all as it may potentially cause more damage in the long run. Get a battery charger instead or pick up a second battery like I have and just hook them both together in parallel via jump leads which starts the car first time every time.

It works
It works, if you leave your car for an extended period the battery goes flat due to the intrusion alarm. This gadget spurns the battery off.

Useful on an old car.
I have these fitted to two old cars both about 20 years old and can cope with losing power. Lots of newer cars can't cope with losing battery power so be aware of this.
